Took the dog for a bike ride this morning…2 miles. I was in a funk yesterday and didn’t do upper body or my quick run like I was supposed to. So I’m going to do upper body today and run at the track. I’m still sore from legs the other day. Anyways, it’s a great day here, not to hot, not cold. Have a great weekend everybody!

Well, I went on my bike ride. rode 2 miles with the dog, then 3.7 without her. Then my back tire went flat right after I turned around to go back. I was so bummed! Luckily I had my cell with me so I could call someone to come get me. I walked 1 mile closer to town before they got to me. Had my tire NOT gone flat, I would have gone 9 miles on the bike. It felt good to get out there, though!
I’ve already had 2 liters of water today and it is almost 1pm. Two more liters to go before bedtime! Eating so many small meals is starting to become second nature. I’m so excited for the changes I’m making for me personally but also my family. My hubby is really starting to look broader in his shoulders and lose his gut. It’s awesome that we are in this together!
Oh, and I lost 1% of bodyfat! yeah me!

So apparently I mixed up the days I was supposed to do interval training and weights. Oh well, now I know for next week. I did weight training for my lower body. It wasn’t until I was done that I realized it mainly worked the hamstrings so I had to add a couple things to work my quads. My hubby suggested sissy squats & leg extensions. I am sore today! I am supposed to do 60 min. of low intensity cardio today, so I ma planning on taking the dog for a bike ride then bringing her home and going by myself for the rest of the 60 minutes. Just have to get someone to watch the kids…….

I did intervals today. Five min. Warm up, 7 intervals of 30 sec. high intensity & 90 sec. lower intensity, then a 5 min. cooldown. I was really flagging by the last interval. After the third one I almost quit, but then talked myself out of it and finished. It felt good. Also did an Ab routine. Been doing good remembering to eat every 2-3 hrs and to eat HEALTHY food. Just got to keep pumping the water. Hoping to see more results soon!

My wrist finally feels normal again! Yipee! I’m so glad. I did my 3 mile hill walk twice on thursday, once in the morning & once in the evening. Doing okay with my eating. I was shopping out of town yesterday and had set out some chicken to thaw, but got back later than I intended and forgot that I was watching my almost 3yr old nephew and all the kids were starving so we went to McDonalds. But the entirte day I was out i ate good! Split lunch with my friend. It’s easier when I have a plan (and pack snacks to take with me) of what I’m going to eat each day, even though my husband thinks its silly. Still trying to get minimum of 3 L water daily, one before lunch, one before dinner & one before bed.
I ran intervals yesterday with the dog in the morning then went on a quick 1 mile bike ride with her in the evening. I’m getting ready to go do a kickboxing video while the kids are napping. It’s been a while since I did it so I’m excited.
My husband goes back to day shift Monday so that will switch up our schedule a bit. He has to be up @ 4 am in order to drive the hour to work and get there by 6am. It actually would work good for me since then I can get my cardio & weight workouts done in the morning and have it done and move on with my day having accomplished that. I just really have to get used to getting to bed earlier & not thinking about sleep when the alarm goes off. I’ll probably up my water intake to 4L, adding one before breakfast.
I am hoping to take some more pictures to update this week. Hubby has been after me to do his, so I should do mine too. I’m a lot tanner which makes me VERY happy, but I don’t see much difference other than that. He says there’s been a change, so I take his word for it.
Alright, off to kickboxing!

After pulling the ligament in my wrist last week, I had planned on doing videos and training legs while it is recovering. Well in acuality, I didn’t do anything till yesterday when I took a 3 mile speedwalk on the hill behind my house in the morning, ran intervals with the dog in the evening followed by doing an ab routine. I have been trying to make better food choices too.
This morning I went on another walk and am so far eating pretty clean. I had a protein pancake for breakfast with a cup of coffee. Then for my mid-morning meal I had an apple & 1/2 cup of almonds and finished off my first liter of water for the day. I have a meal plan for the day and a timer on my cell phone set, so that has helped me to remember when I need to eat.
I’m also planning on running intervals with the dog again tonight and doing a full body circuit mainly focusing on legs, but doing what i can with upper body using light wieght and high reps. My hubby recommended that.
It was time to get off my butt and do something. My cousin is getting married at the end of August and I have a new dress I want to fit into by then. It is hanging up in my bedroom to remind me of my goal and yesterday i saw it and was just like, ‘I can’t wish myself into that dress! I have to put some effort into it!’ So here I am doing it!

I was putting a child car seat in my rig Tuesday and pulled my stinkin ligament in my wrist!! I couldn’t believe it! My dr. told me no lifting for 2-3 weeks until it gets better. So I’ll be hitting my home gym for legs 2x week instead of once and doing more videos (like kickboxing & plyo) so I can still be active besides doing my regular cardio. It’s a bummer but my husband thinks it’s funny. :-p I never realized how much my wrist affects the rest of my body.

Ever since I started working out and reading Oxygen, I have had the dilemma of what to do for cardio and how do I work it in around an already busy schedule with little to no cost? Getting the dog helped, but being a stay at home mom with 3 little girls 6 and under (one of which is homeschooled) and a husband whose shift changes every 6 weeks, I need something I can do at home. My goal is to be able to run 3 miles, but unless I have someone to watch my kids (which doesn’t happen everyday) I can’t go run. The simple soultion would be to get a treadmill, right? Unfortuately I have limited space for it and it defeats the purpose of the little or no cost. I HATE relying on someone else so I can workout! I want to get up get it done and move on with the rest of my day. BUT I realized the other day that I COULD run around my yard. The kids can play while I do this and the dog still gets her much needed exercise. So I’m sarting out kinda slow…it’s been months since the last time I ran. My goal is to start out with 5-10 minutes in the morning AND in the evening and eventually combine it into one 45-60 minute session in the morning. So far so good. I’ve doen it 2 days now and decided this morning that in the morning I am going to push myself a little harder. I really like the feeling of accomplishment after I’m done!

Well, I haven’t made much progress or effort these last couple weeks. My hubby was gone for a week on a road trip (lucky) so I had a harder time squeezing in workouts while he was gone. BUT, I have renewed my desire to look good by the end of summer and am going to make more of an effort from now on. 6 meals/day of clean eating foods, and cardio daily with my dog & 3 day s of strength training. Wish me luck!
