weight gain
We’re now at 24 weeks and I have gained 12.4 lbs. The books tell me average for now is 15-20 lbs. SO I’m happy I’m a little below average as I think I’ve been managing it a little. I’ve got 4 months to go and can gain 8-13 lbs to stay in my desired range. Even if I gained a lb a week right now I’d be okay with it b/c I think that would still keep me in the recommended range. I’m diligent now about trying to eat healthy and not stray too far off course. I also am trying to keep up with 4-5 workouts a week of atleast cardio and 3 of weights. Today I’m going to do some DVDs at home so I can stay on it even with our pup newly spayed.
I’m very focused on what I’m going to do post pregnancy. I do feel that I’m leaner (minus baby related weight) than before pregnancy so I think breastfeeding and delivery will easily drop about 20 lbs for me. That should leave me with 5-10 post pregnancy plus the extra 15 I brought in. I’d like to drop 20-25 lbs post pregnancy to get back into the 120s in 3 months. At 2lbs a week * 12 weeks I think I should be on target.
My strategy is to do something like P90x and cardio 5x a week as well as eating very clean with one cheat meal a week. I will need to keep the calories up but I plan on doing so healthily with minor straying.
God help me but I want to go into the holidays and a wedding we have to attend in January looking like one hot mommy!
