I do a short ab workout 3x /week.  my obliques are coming along but I have a stubborn glazed donut around my belly button.   I can suck it in and make it look good but when I breath -  there it is.   Is this just a diet thing? cuz I do feel some muscle under the squish-yness,.    I’ve had 2 babies, but wanna look like a fitness competitor!     Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Anyone have Ab success??

Help! Need dieting advice…

I know theres no magic pill, but i have such a hard time controlling my diet!!    When I try to eat clean - plain chx brst and rice I end up cheating later in the day.  I need food to taste good.   How do people stick to it?  I cant seem to make it thru one full day without some kind of cheat.   I’m working out consistantly at the gym - cardio too - but see no results and I know its because of my diet.   Seems like the more I think about it, the more I cheat.   I like spicy food and crockpot meals- ANY tips/tricks/advice would be SO APPRECIATED!!!   I suck.

My heart disease (diastolic dysfunctional heart failure) has few treatment options since clinical trials have not been completed because most patients (most are elderly) do not live long enough to complete the trial.  I was at an advanced Stage 3 up til Tuesdays test.  At Stage 4, the disease becomes irreversible and will require a heart transplant.  I’m a good candidate for transplant due to my age and having no other illnesses, but I’d prefer not to go through that!!   My Dr was very surprised at my test Tuesday.  My disease is reversing and has gone down to a late Stage 1!  The Dr has never seen this happen before.  Thank you everyone for the prayers!

Finally feeling better.  Missed a few workouts which SUCKS.   but I have my heart testing tomorrow.  hate those blood draws etc.    I try not to think about my disease much so when I have an appt, I get a little depressed - I hate these limitations and try to ignore them.             ANYWAYS….  after that crap, I get to go back to the gym.  I am not sure if I should do the 30 min of cardio after my upper body workout since I’m just getting better from upper resp. flu.   - headcold.   Do you think I’ll set myself back?  I was down with it for 3 days and the past two have been feeling progressively better.  Hope I’m not too much weaker!

Ugh.  I’ve been so sick for about 3 days!  Bad headcold and allergies combined are kickin my butt!!  hard!!  I havent been able to train - missed 2 workouts and I’m not stomach sick, so I can still EAT just fine!  Comfort food since I feel so crappy everywhere else.  I hope to go back to the gym Tuesday (I train Tue-Thr-Sat).   Then I have my heart testing.  Oh sh__.   I’m supposed to get my hair highlighted that morning too;-guess I’ll have to reschedule that….  I’m getting behind with my life!  I dont know about you, but I do NOT have time to be sick!   I get so worried that I’ll backslide and 2 missed workouts will turn into 3, 4, 5…    I’ve always given up when I hit a speedbump like this and just said "screw it - i messed it all up anyways".   I’ve GOT to stay with it this time.   Yes, I am giving my own pep talk.  I think I’m just on too much cold medication!!  so later…

I’ll miss summer so much, but with fall comes consistancy and a SCHEDULE!   I’m actually looking forward to being on a more rigid training schedule.   I’ve been crazy busy with my husbands bodybuilding career - sponsors, interviews etc so things have been pretty exciting around here.  As soon as we have a signed contract I’ll tell you all about it!  Now the pressure is on for my training because I really have to do it on my own and I seriously want (and need!) to look good!  gotta keep those hoochi’s away from my man!  : )

Oh - one more thing. I ran up the stairs two at a time yesterday and didnt feel bad at all (my heart problems)!  Thats a huge thing for me!  I go for all my re-testing mid-September so I’ll get to see if the exercise is helping or if I have to go back on the meds that turn me into a sleeping vegetable.  Pray for me! Thanks.

Needing help with Deadlifts…

I have very weak hamstrings - I have trouble with my quads always doing all the work.    So I’ve been doing stiff-legged deadlifts after pre-exhausting my quads.   My form looks ok but i just dont feel it.  I could do 50 reps.  If I increase weight, my back will hurt the next day.  Any trick to doing them right?  and do they feel easy for everyone while youre actually doing them?  (is it one of those "the pain will come later" things?)

I took two workouts off this week.  Coastguard Festival and we’ve been at the beach all week .  So much fun - I dont want it to end!!  But next Monday it’s back to work and workouts.  Anxious to get going on the workouts again.   My gym has run some promo’s so theres a bunch of newbies in there who have terrible gym ettiquette, so I just have to figure out when it’s slower in there.   I’ve come to grips with the fact that it’s just gonna take me a bit longer to get in the shape I want to be in (kindof a perfectionist and wanna look like Jaime Eason - I mean who doesnt!!?)  than someone who is willing and able to go balls out.  I’m just too ornery with my family to do everything perfect to see fast results.  So I’m just gonna keep at it and accept that instead of weeks, it will take months.  and thats ok.  I’ve never stuck with it this long since having my first child 9 years ago, so I’m looking at that as an accomplishmt for now.  I really need to post some new pics but this summer has been crazy busy - next week should slow down and I should have time then.  I’m having a great summer and hope you are too!!
