Randall, have you tried to position your arms differently on bench? I do dumbbell inclines and flat dumbbell benches, but have recently gone back to "rotating" my arms as I complete the flat movements.

You know how your palms face each other when you're doing flyes? I start with the dumbbells in the position as if I'm doing regular bar benches - arms extended and hands like that. Then as I lower the dumbbells I rotate my palms so they're facing each other at the bottom of the rep.

Also with a tender right shoulder, I'm not too concerned with full range of motion. All those people crying about full ROM can eat my gym shoes. I'll crank out my reps stopping just short of full ROM and that's fine by me and my shoulder.

Small changes might allow you to lift pain-free or with less pain, bro.

Best of luck.

Oh, I see this is from August but you mentioned similar problems now? I hope all is well.

My right shoulder isn't "right" but the ortho I visited detected no tear, so here I am. I continue to visit the chiropractor and definitely value his work, however I consistently pull something new at each workout. LOL

Oh, well, such is life and at age 46, this is going to happen. Isn't that right, 48? :D

Hang tough, Randall.

I recently had a scare with my left shoulder. I've implemented an aggressive stretching routine that has, along with pulling back on certain lifts &amp; weight, worked wonders. Its a cool thing to have a certified yoga instructor as one's mother!

PM me if you want to learn more.
