quick stats update

This morning, I weighed myself……….187.8! The scale has continually shown me, recently, an increased number. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not, but I’m going to try to make the best of it.

I also measured bf………….13.5%. Not too bad. In fact, it’s not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I’d still like to be under 10% again, but don’t know if that will ever be possible. I’ll keep plugging along, but it always seems like there are more important things that come up, my fitness keeps getting pushed to the side.

Couldn’t find my measuring tape, so I’m not in a good mood. Oh well, might be better that way, I can’t tell what my circumferences are. ;) I’m sure most of them probably haven’t changed much. I can still wear medium shirts (for the most part), 34 waist pants, and 11 shoes. So if I’m gaining weight, it isn’t greatly apparent exactly where it’s going yet.

On a positive note…….today’s the last day of the school year! I’m so ready for summer! I have two finals today, enter grades, clean my room, and I’m done. It will be nice to catch up on a bit of sleep and get some things done around the house that have been needing to be done. Maybe I can also devote a bit of time to myself as well. It’s good to get a little "me" time every now and then.

Measurement confusion

Why can’t I get stable body stats? It’s frustrating!

Does my body really drop .5 inch or add .5 inch in a week? It seems like most of my measurements have been all over the place. Granted, they’re all within about an inch of each other, so it could be the way the stats are taken (I think I’m consistent each time), or maybe I just had really good or bad weeks, depending on what I’m measuring and the result I get.

Anyone else have this problem?

yea! i can get back into my routine of dietary strictness and exercising. this past weekend was tourney hosting for me and my team, and so the entire week i didn’t focus on what i was eating, and i only got in two workouts-one weights and one cardio. so i knew i would suffer come measurement time, which was tonight.

my waist went up a whole inch! wow! but, considering all the junk….that’s being very nice….i ate this past week, i’m not surprised. more frustrated and angry at myself, but not surprised.

hips went up 1/2 inch, probably to correspond with the increase on my waist. i’m feeling so fat right now.

i did have some encouraging measurements though. my shoulders increased another 1/2 inch. i think maybe the less training for my shoulders has allowed them to grow a bit. my chest is staying steady at 42. actually, my chest measurement was slightly higher than 42, but not quite to the 1/4 inch mark. hopefully next week. calves went back up to 15.75, which is nice, thighs up to 23 (with no increase in fat there), and my arms are playing cat and mouse at 13.5 and 13.75.

overall, i’m still in good shape, and i’m looking forward to getting back into my normal routine of things. i’m going to really watch my diet this week, and today i did pretty well. i have bodypump monday, hopefully some racquetball either monday or tuesday, pilates and cardio classes on wednesday, and hopefully at least one more full body weight workout. it will be nice to hit it hard and heavy this week after a bit of a break.

and yes, in case you’re wondering, i purposefully did not use any capitalization marks in this blog. don’t tell anyone.

Week 2 of Fall Plan - Diet advice anyone?

An interesting week, for sure. My diet pretty much sucked. Log is filled with a ton of junk that I know I shouldn’t be eating. Then I sit and wonder why my waist measurement went up AGAIN! Hello!!!!! My hip measurements also went up, from 40.0 to 40.5. Not quite for sure how an area can change 1/2 inch in one week, but I measured 4 times and go the same thing.

My bodyfat also went up. Probably due to the diet, since I trained my rear end off this week. From 9.85% to 10.47%. Again, not quite sure how it can go up that much in a week, but I’m sure it’s possible. Actually, I know it’s possible, because it HAPPENED! After measuring myself about 5 times to make sure I had all the mm readings correct, I finally gave up, realized I screwed up, and so now here I am.

I MUST PLAN FOR THIS WEEK!

If anyone has any advice on quick, healthy snacks/meals that I could take with me to work, that would be great. I utlizie meal replacement shakes, bars, etc., already, and love nuts, granola, cheese, etc. I’m not sure what the deal is, but I’m determined to figure it out. Driving me INSANE!
