About My Blog

This blog is about me, and my bodybuilding/fitness/health adventure. Life is only lived once, and I believe it’s essential that every individual live each day to the fullest. We are, after all, only guaranteed so many days, and we know not the number.

First, let me define what I mean by bodybuilding, as it is probably different than what a lot of people on this board are trying to achieve. Bodybuiding, to me, means "building" your body much like you would a house. To begin with, you need a strong foundation. In the body, that means strong, firm legs. So that’s where I tend to spend the most amount of time and energy. After the foundation is laid, then we can begin to build the superstructure. For the body, that’s the torso up. The way I look at it is this: there are several types and sizes of houses. But it’s not really the size that matters. Rather, it’s the sturdiness of the house. Will it withstand the wind, rain, snow, hail, and everything else that nature throws at it? That’s how I want to "build" my body. I’m not looking for just size. I want a strong body that can endure what life throws at it. I want to be able to say every year that I am in better shape than I was before.

Now that I’ve defined what I think bodybuilding is, let me say the following: I have no intentions of competing in a bodybuilding or weightlifting contest. I don’t want to put my body through that, and I refuse to take all the "supplements" that a lot (granted, not all) of bodybuilders take. So I’ll be happy to achieve my goals and continue to get better and better. So what if I’m never a strongman or that I never win a contest? My wife loves me, my daughter is the most beautiful person in the world to me (next to my wife, obviously), and I am the happiest man in the world. What more could I ask for, except to be in good physical condition?
