One month after surgery
Sunday, May 6th, 2007Just an update to let those of you who care to know what is going on thus far. Training is going very well considering I had 2 discs removed in my neck just one month ago. I am considerably weaker on my left side but I have shown some increased strength in my pushing movements. The tricep, pecs, teres major and minor, delts, and trap muscles on my left side were significantly affected by the nerve impingement caused from the C6/C7 ruptured disc. It is going to be a slow process in returning to where I was back in Dec. and Jan. as far as strength and size goes, but I am feeling very good and blessed that at least I am able to lift at this point.
I attended the OCB Core Nutrition competition April 28 in Richmond and got to meet "va_newguy" (Shawn) and see him debut at his first competition. Shawn did awesome and has a lovely family that was supporting him. I also got to see "serratus" (Gary)win his pro card. They are both members here on bodyspace and it was exciting and encouraging to see those guys competing. It shows me that anything is possible if you train hard, eat right, and commit yourself to a goal. My goal is to be on stage with those guys in the future once I have recovered from this surgery.
Thanks for stopping by to read my blog. God bless you all and keep on keeping on and training hard!
