Ok, so I decided that I’m doing something totally wrong. I’ve been so fixed in my brain that I can only eat 1200 calories a day to loose weight. Yes, just like every articles say… this plan has backfired on me. I’ve noticed over the last couple years that I can’t get past a certain weight. I’ll get down to about 156 and this is from only eating 1200 calories a day and working my butt off. This does me well for about two weeks. Then things starting getting in the way and for some reason I start to thing its "all or nothing" in terms of my diet.

If you read some of my past blogs you will see that I have been a binge eater. I havn’t binge eaten since The beginning of the summer, but I NEVER want to go back to these ways. EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER!!!!! It’s the worst feeling ever. So I’m trying to get out of this mode. I love eating clean, it makes me feel so much better so i’ve been doing this a little more consistantly over time.

My point is that I need to try a new strategy. Instead of eating only 1200 calories a day (which is two weeks out of four doable) I’m just going to vary the calories I eat a day from 1300 to 1600. I think this will allow me to speed up my metabolism and Keep me from ever getting really hungry. Also, I think I’m going to eat more in the mornings because I tend to eat more later and that might be from the lack of food I eat earlier in the day. Hopefully this will all make a difference.

Please let me know what you think!! I want eveyone’s input here. If I thought something through wrong, tell me!! I love learning new things and even better, using the things I already know and actually applying them to my life!

Love all.

I tried the protein pancake recipie with oats, protein, eggs, splenda, cinnemon and water. They sucked! the texture was terrible. Whoever thinks that they’re awesome is just telling themselves that so they wont be tempt to go down to Kerbey Lane or Ihop and get ledgit pancakes. Just warning you. I’m going to stick to my protein shakes. NOw those are great.

As for my little journey, I’m down to 156. It’s great. I havn’t been at this weight in over a year. I will work hard to loose another 7 pounds by October 27th (my 20th bday!). I can already tell a huge difference though. I’m starting to see definition again and my tummy is way flatter. It’s good stuff. I can’t wait to write again telling everyone that I’m closer than before!

By the way, I tried a fit test from the work out video series called Insanity and it was rediculous. I was dripping sweat in less than twenty minutes. It’s by the same people who do p90x I think. Check it out.

Have a great day!

**please if you have any thoughts about my blog, comment! I love feedback!***

Hey fellow Bodybuilders,

I have been doing excellent in the gym. If you check out my lifting stats, you can see then I have been increasing weight a lot! This has kept me motivated and in the gym! Also, I have a new love. That would be running! When I was a in junior high I remember freaking out at the thought of having to run one mile in gym class. I could barley do it and wanted to die after. Now, I am proud to say that I can run 3 miles! And I feel good afterwards. I’ve been working on it for a few weeks now because my best friend made me… but I like it now. I’m also able to run a fast pace without running out of breath!!!

The problem is that I can’t get the fat off of my belly! My abs are very strong…. I can keep up with my friend in ab workouts and she’s 40lbs lighter than I am. It’s clearly my diet that needs help, but I really don’t eat bad. Typically I’ll eat a bowl of cereal/ oatmeal for breakfast, grapes for a snake, tuna or grilled chicken for lunch, a protein shake/bar after working out, then maybe some yogurt and fruit or protein for dinner. I’m going to pay closer attention and write down what I eat, but I don’t want to get obsessed again and have a binge episode. (That has been my main problem with keeping my weight off and reaching my goal). What is my problem????

Keep on moving,

It’s been a week since I’ve been home from college and I’m done with my "lazy catch up on the lack of sleep from finals" stage. I’ve been to the gym, had my protein shake and feel good! I’m excited to have nothing on my mind but working out, a little work here and there, god, and friends and family. I survived my first year of college with a over a 3.0 (which isn’t quite easy to get at my university) and I’m ready to relax and work hard on my body.

If any of yall like the show The Biggest Loser, you must agree that it is very inspiring. Not that’s I’m anywhere near obese, but I go through the same struggles they do! "Reality" is harder to deal with than the actual work out, or actually putting enough protein in your mouth. "Reality is finding the time to do those things, and stay focused at the same time. Why do you think most of the people on the show who go home earlier barley loose any weight? It’s because they havn’t learned all of the tools they need to get through "reality". Why do you think the first Biggest Loser winner gained all of his weight back? It’s either because something didn’t click and he was lucky to have stayed on the ranch that long, or because it just got too hard after awhile for him.

The point that I’m trying to make is that over coming stuggles with working out and eating right takes practice. It takes commitement and motivation. I know most of you who have read any BB articles have found that being fit and healthy is part of a lifestyle, but most of the time we long for an easy "quick fix" that doesn’t exist. You have to find support and eventually it will become natural.

Mike, the youngest BL contestant, went back home in one episode and talked about how he would closet eat at this one fast food restraunt that was right across the street from the gym he now goes to. He questioned how much better it would have been to just go there instead of the drive thru. After all of the practice he got at the ranch, that’s what he’s doing. And he’s better than ever.

As for me, after being out of the gym for a couple of weeks, i’m excited and ready to get back in. It’s taken me a lot of practice to get to the point where I can go back to the gym and love it, but I’m constantly working on it. Maybe even one day I can compete or even model. Who knows???

much love!

I have final exams coming up and I am going to have to buckle down these next three weeks. It sucks. I’m going to add one more day of working out this week and see what happens.
