totally random, but is this a myth or not??
So i’ve heard two stories about Dry Saunas.
A) That they help burn fat and can help burn extra calories by using them. This is because the body has to use energy to make the sweat to cool you off.
or
B) Dry Saunas do not do anything but detox you and make you loose water weight/ sweat.
So what is it???? I’m dying to know!

Just my opinion . . . if they do burn fat, it’s probably pretty insignificant. The vast majority of any weight you lose in a sauna is just water . . . and it goes back on pretty fast once you start hydrating again. We used to use them in wrestling to drop weight before weigh-ins. Guys could temporarily shed several pounds before hitting the official scale, but it went right back up rapidly once they got fluid back in them.

I am reading a book called Ultrametabolism by Mark Hyman. It talks about saunas and says something like do a sauna or steam bath at least so many times a week because it helps your metabolism. I cant find the exact page right now with the data. But it was something to do with killing off free radicals or something that are blocking your metabolism from soaring. Sounded like a hot bath might do the same thing…
I scanned that part last night before bed so the details are kinda fuzzy, but … Something to think about if he is not just another diet $$ grinder. So far lots of stuff he says makes sense so…
