shin splints, pre season and protein!

Im two months into my shin splints rehab program. and its going well! Started off with 30 mins walkin, and every time after that i take off 3 mins of walking and run instead. Just completed 2 mins walkin, 8 mins of running 3 times! Shins slightly sore but i wouldnt say they’re painful. First time in a little over 2 years i’ve been able to run for that long without pain. OH THE JOY!

Pre season is 9 days away so im lookin good for at least 30 minutes of that session! Just do the running maybe a few light ball skills.

Even though i’ve drastically reduced my calories and ive introduced some cardio i’m still @ 81kgs! :) :) high protein is doin the trick! Off the beer for another 2 months now so i’ll see how much i can really get outta my body before i get back to uni! Much Luv1

hello people im now lookin to shed a few pounds of excess fat around my stomach yet keep my hard earned muslce! any1 help? im gonna try keep protein high and lots of cardio? wot do we think?

June = creatine!

My last post i complained about being stuck @ 79! Im now up to 81kg! Yeh baby! Started Creatine a few days ago. Can already feel the difference. Also started pushin my body a bit harder, adding an extra set here, drop set there. Also stopped directly working arms. Previous ive found that working arms while on creatine leads me to overtrain, especially the forearm area.

Quick note about the creatine. Using BSN CellMass mostly because of the fact that i dont have to load. Also it says no water retention.Hmm im not sure this is true but i’ll soon find out wen i come off!! Off on holiday to Tenerife in T minus 17 days so a few more kgs would be wiiked! Peace

lost focus..may = mass

I have hit a plateau. My body doesnt seem to want to gain any more muscle. The first 3 months went fantastically well putting on over 1stone. However, these past few months havent been so great.

I know what that means. More food. Im getting pretty good @ chowing down the calories during the week. Weekends are a killer. Gotta be more dedicated. Go back Jan/Feb/Mar i missed maybe 4 meals in 3 months! I miss 4 a week now.

Also, i dont take in any protein from 6.30 when i wake to my 10.30 protein shake. Breakfast is the hardest meal to cram down as its just not possible to be that hungry when my body is craving sleep.

Back on it properly from tomorrow. And what better to kick start it off with a MONSTER leg session! ‘ave it!

setback….

Havent been able to get to this gym this week. My grandad is pretty ill in hospital so i’ve been to see him for last few days and going every day this week after work. To keep myself ticking over, ive done a 200+ rep leg circuit today. Followed my a BioTest Surge post-workout shake and a lower body ice bath. Oh the pain. Certain bodyparts arent meant to be submerged in ice for 5 minutes! See if this has any effect on how sore i am tomorrow. Previously it has worked wonders but this was an intense session, even if the weights were lighter than normal.

weight gain

Doin well. Weighed myself yesterday and started to wonder whether the scales are lying! Put on just under 7 pounds in the 3 weeks ive been training. This is pretty damn awesome! Seein as i’ve been training for years, taking months to put on this much. Have to put it down to almost PERFECT nutrition. In 3 weeks ive missed maybe 4 meals. Most of those were last saturday when i was hungover like hell.  Feeling a bit rough today. Bit of a chest infection comin i think. I think thats just an excuse my body is trying to make so i dont have to do legs today…
