This new workout has me very sore but the walking funny is the interesting part. It’s not because I pulled anything….I think my body is just adjusting.

I rarely do legs. Tuesday I ended up doing a full workout and did moves I had never done before. It’s freaking awesome. I don’t want to get my legs to big but I’m definitely keeping this up for at least six weeks while I figure out what my next routine will be.

Thank you Muscle & Fitness magazine.

So I started a new routine. I went through a couple of back issues of Muscle & Fitness and found a routine for growing huge quickly.

So I’m giving it a shot. Even though I’m trying to get lean, I’m sure the more and heavier I lift the more calories I burn. I won’t get as big as I could because of cardio and the fat burners (Lipo 6X) that I’m currently on and doing but I know I’ll keep gaining.

Building muscle isn’t to difficult it’s dropping the fat and I’m determined to do my long term goal this time around. I’m glad to be down to size 30 to 31 pants/jeans but I still have a belly and I want that to go as well.

So I’m goign to give this routine a couple of weeks before changing it up again. I might try the new one that’s in the "Wolverine" issue of Muscle & Fitness. The 100 rep set. I’ve tried just to do 100 pushups and that’s tough. Heck the 25 rep set I did today was rough. I can only imagine the progress I can make with 1 set/100 reps rountine.

So that’s it for today. I’m really tired and still lately always hungry. Just trying my best to be smart about it.

I’ve also started a group, it’s open to all but the topic is for the "Short and Stacked" types like me. Short but bigger than average for their height.

Hopefully I can get some people to join. It’s day one for the group, so it will take time to build.

So the last week and a half it seems I am constantly starving. The good part is I am seeing a difference in my waistline as it is trimming down again.

I’ve significantly increased my cardio again and going heavy with weights again. Now it’s like my body is on and in full drive or it’s off and I’m tired and ready to hit the sheets.

The good part is I’m not hungry the couple of hours before bed but it’s between 10 am and 5 pm that is the worst. I’m glad that there are no candy dishes around my cube. Yesterday I had to have dinner at 5:30 because of how hungry I was but then I had to have a snack around 8, so a bowel of Special K berriy cereal was the snack.

It’s been a while since I’ve been hungry in this way. It’s not my stomach talking but my body demanding food. There’s a big difference between the two.

Currently I am not on any protein powder. After the last time, I’m not sure if I want to. I couldn’t sleep during my first attempt of taking protein powder. It was two weeks of only 2 to 3 hours of sleep because I was constantly wired.

I am writing this because I’m wondering if this is normal and the right steps. The goal right now is more to lean up still. I’ll work on gaining more mass but leaning up and increasing strenghth is the goal for now.

I’m just trying to make sure I’m putting enough food into my body.

Anyone ever experienced this before?

Any info would be appreciated.
Ben

So my friends decided to add to my calendar a trip to Ft. Lauderdale. Now I shouldn’t complain but it pushes up a deadline that I probably wasn’t going to make until now.

The next week I have to focus on dropping my bodyfat as quickly as possible. We leave Friday. So I’ve updated some of my pictures with my current situation. My new routine must be working because I’ve gained about 3 pounds in about 2 weeks.

Grant it I’ve been hitting the peanut M&M’s pretty hard the last two weeks as well. I wasn’t sure if I was going to have a job or not. We have done the cuts at the company and I’m still there. New department but I’m still there.

So being a stress eater…getting through the last couple of weeks had been tough but having a brand new workout routine has help keep me occupied and "hurting" but it’s all good.

Well that’s it for tonight.

Have a good one, Ben

So I normally don’t make a trip into Starbucks but I didn’t have my morning caffeine…which I think I’ve accepted I’m addicted to.

After my workout I didn’t have a lot of energy plus I didn’t have any of my protein with me. So I stopped into Starbucks so I could at least get my caffeine.

Well it turns out the have this little power protein plate which was good because I was in a crunch with no protein powder.

In it is Cheddar cheese, hard boiled egg, grapes, apple slices, whole-wheat bagel and peanut butter. In total here is the breakdown
Calories 370
Protein 17g
Total Fat 17g
Fiber 5g
Sodium 600mg

For being in a crunch, it did the job. Would have rather had a Muscle Milk shake but for an immediate solution I was happy with it and having natural products made me feel good. So if ever in a fix for caffeine and protein, stop by your local Starbucks.

Have a good one!

So I’ve become adicted to the gym but recently I learned sometimes if I’m going to be lazy at least hit 100 push ups at home.

Now I’m not all built and strong yet so squeezing out 100 pushups definitley has added some size to my chest. I think I’ve shocked my chest but it’s so worth it.

So now my goal is to work my way up to 100 straight push ups with no stopping. That’s going to take some time…but I know I’ll definitely enjoy the pump while reaching my goal.

So lesson learned….don’t forget the basics.

So that’s the lesson i’m learning these past two weeks.

Yeah I heard it many times and just couldn’t work it in. Well I decided to suck it up and got some oatmeal….now not my fvaorite choice but with my workout routine…a little sugar won’t hurt.

So I got the generic Wal-Mart fruit and cream oatmeal and I have that first thing.

I’ve shifted my Lean Pockets breakfast sandwiches to later in the morning around 10 and then have my lunch around 1:00 and then a Nature’s Valley oatmeal bar around 3 and next thing you know it’s time to go home for dinner.

This keeps me full all day long partially because I squeeze in at least a gallon of water almost everyday. Oh yeah and two cups of coffee.

It’s like someone turned on a freaking furnace in my metabolism because I’ve been wattching how quickly my body is responding to my new eating schedule.

Also it doesn’t take much to get me full, so I don’t feel like a slug during the day. I started to eat more initially because I wasn’t gaining muscle….I could tell muscle loss was occurring…now that I’ve added those two oatmeal meals/snacks, I’m feeling sore longer again but I have’nt noticed a gain at the scales just yet.

So that’s my blog for today. Sorry I let a month go since the last but I’ve been busting my butt. I couldn’t get my friend to change his ways….so his gym time is barely keeping him fit. Maybe after he turns 50 he might change.

Have a good one and keep it up!

So with as much time as I spend at a buddy’s place on weekends…I don’t see him often. So while I’ve been losing weight…he’s been packing it on and at his age….well that’s not a good thing.

So this weekend with it being Halloween and I bought some new fitting cloths….I think he’s finally got the message. I’m not sure how to tell him to take gym time seriously. He goes at least 4 times a week and does the same old routine everyday. Sometimes I wonder why he even breaks a sweat on the elliptical machine because he’s not very intense on it.

But what is killing his waist line is his diet. He is one of those that says he’s eating light but definitely eating more calories than he is working off.

So I’m doing my best to encourage him without ticking him off. He doesn’t take criticism very well. But I’ve definitely got him thinking.

Well have to cut this short and actually hit the gym. I was so exhausted from Halloween night that I took all of Saturday off. Well when you’re up until 6 the following day….you kinda need the rest especially since I got tons of cardio Halloween night. The gym is not the only place I can be very intense at.

Have a good rest of the weekend.

So it’s been a while since I’ve been on this site and even longer since I did a blog post.

Well I fell off the gym wagon for a while when I went through a job "reposition" but now all is well. The new position is not as stressful. Being an emotional eater…..well that’s why it was difficult to lose weight.

Now I’ve dropped 20 pounds and gone from a 34 pant waist to a 31 waist!

Now I have lost half an inch in my arms but working to get them back up.

Just a quick post…mostly to say I’m back and I’ve made progress. I think I’ve reached a point were it will be less cardio and much more heavier weights.

I don’t like being 174. Even though I’m only 5′5", I feel a little small. This is the smallest I’ve been since middle school. I had always been 180 by the time I was 15.

So all I want for Christmas are supplements. I got to make sure to send my letter to Santa. LOL

Well have a good one and thanks for stopping by my page. I will be better about being on this site.

Send me some feedback.
