Benefit of two gym memberships…..

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

If you’re fortunate enough, I found out how good and enegerizing it is to keep two gym memberships.  Another way to keep up a different routine.

Because I don’t treat the gym as a social environment….I go there to do my thing and get out as soon as I’m done.  I say quick hello’s but that it.  Well I was being kinda lazy and still had my membership at work which I hadn’t used the pass two months.  It’s not really a big deal because I haven’t seen the money for a while since i comes directly out of my paycheck and it would only be an extra 4.60 a week.

So I dropped by the last couple of days and it was good because, first I was familiar with the equipment and second I was forced to change my routine slightly to adjust for what they had there.  Plus it was a bunch of different faces and it wasn’t as crowded.

Oh yeah that was the other reason why, my regular gym just did a "Membership drive" so right now Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are twice as busy so gonna avoid the gym during those times the next month and a half until people decide to change their schedule or they cancel their memberships.

So I got in my good workout at a different place.  It forces to change it up and even though I don’t really treat the gym as a social environment it still comes down to the equivalent to going to the bar.  You have your "home" bar or club that you can be found at most times but then you have another that you frequent to just change up the scene.

It helps to keep things from going stale.

So that’s my blog for now.  Have a good one and keep up the good work!

Switching up the routine…..

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

More like breaking it.  I kind of got stuck in a rut and just going through the motions of my workout and not feeling the growth of soreness….so today I used completely different equipment and damn did it feel good.

I was breaking the three to four week rule of wher eyou have to switch it up or else you won’t feel it.

Keep that in mind this week.  Do you keep doing the same thing over and over?

Have a good one.

Stumbling Blocks….

Saturday, March 3rd, 2007

So I told myself going into this that I wouldn’t go out until the end of February and no dating until end of March.  Well I ended up breaking both rules and set myself back two weeks.  So to catch up, now I have to do double time.

Not that there’s anything wrong with finding a person you want to spend your life with but you have to make sure you find the right one and that you’re ready.  To sound absolutely cocky but honest, working out and developing in all the right places has significately increased the hotness factor, the downside to that is trying to turn a blind eye to everyone checking you out.

Being the chunky kid most of my life, this can be very distracting and hard to figure out.  This isn’t the first time I’ve leaned up but it is the first tiem where I won’t let anything stand between me and my goals….so the past two weeks were me semi-off my schedule.  A schedule is very important to keep because it is all about biology and chemistry when it comes to working out and some people tend to forget that fact.

Well getting back to the stumbling blocks….things have severely slowed down which I’m perfectly fine with.  I have my goals and all this eating and partying outside of my schedule has slowed my progress.

So we have to have the discussion and if we feel is true then a month and a half we can reevaluate where we both are at.  It hurts a little but if I did reach my goals then that just might hurt even more.

Your thoughts?

Ben
