I stay fit all year and it is due to the foods I eat. However, I do put on a little extra bodyfat in my off season due to extra calories for muscle growth so I go from about 8% contest, to 14-15% off season. I never vary my foods I only add more. My food may not be fun, but it gets it done! Omega 3 eggs, egg whites, oatmeal, Ezekiel bread, Natures Best Zero carb Isopure, all natural Peanut butter (yum!), chicken, brown rice, sweet potatoes, almonds, pecans, peanuts, turkey, lean beef, tuna (in water and filets) salmon, salad, berries (all kinds) grapefruit, cucumbers, edemame, non-fat greek yogurt, non or low fat cottage cheese, black beans, mushrooms, zucchini, pumpkin and other squash, asparagus, green beans. I think thats about it. I use mustard, spices, hot sauce, soy sauce, salt and pepper for flavor. I drink 1-2 gallons of water per day, herbal teas and coffee. Don’t play with my foods never try anything new these work. After a competition I will take a day or two and eat what I want, usually ends up being what I always eat with maybe one or two bad meals, then right back to it. Holidays I take the one day and eat a few goodies not the whole weekend or week or whatever. I don’t have cake on my birthday, and I might have a drink 2x a year. I don’t use any diet pills or other muscle growth supplements. I take a fish oil, evening primrose oil, coral calcium. Juice Plus+ for supplements thats it. I don’t eat out a lot and when I do I order for the way I eat and restaurants are really good about it. I don’t eat any processed foods, or fast food ever. Been doing this for 1 1/2 years, my skin, hair, nails etc are all healthier, I feel better with way more energy and I look better too. I have three kids who eat pretty much the way I do, except they have more goodies.

It just becomes part of your life. When you are depleting and not getting very many calories you will do anything to stay full, so that is where all the water comes in. Even when I am off season and eating carbs I drink at least a gallon a day, I want my body to flush not hold onto water it doesn’t need.
