My issue is what happens after I get this freaking shot… I get sick as a DOG. I am like what the hell I thought this was to prevent that from happening. Anyway I am done whining… have a great workout.

Well all know that there are certain etiquette in the gym that we should follow…yeah I understand this and follow said rules for the most part; but there are somethings that i will always do… Lift heavy, grunt and run like a clydesdale on the treadmill, sorry it can’t be helped I am not built like a gazelle. I was in the gym doing my cardio and a guy got onthe treadmill next to me…I gave him the whatsup nod and kept on moving. Now he was a big guy, but he was putting in the work to get the weight down (kudos to you guy) When he started runing his stride was heavy and he plodded along for the duration of his run, now this didn’t bother me but it seem to irritate the gazelles using the treadmills around us…nasty looks, and snide comments. It got so bad that the guy was about to cut his workout short for the sake of the gazelles; I said heck no!!! what are you doing…quiting?! why? because some preconceived notion that one should run lightly while on a treadmill. Look realize that not everyone weighs under 200lbs, some people don’t know the proper mechanics to running. This poor guy is in the gym trying to better himself and the elite decide that he shouldn’t be allowed run because he is running to loud… are you serious? turn up your ipod, remember back to the days when you were a fatty and struggling; but don’t be quick to make someone feel uneasy. To sum this up…I am a clydesdale make no joke about it when i run the treadmill feels it…that is what its there for…untill they build a heavy duty treadmills for those of us who are 200lbs and up the ones in the gym will have to deal with the abuse of me and my fellow clydesdales… move b@$%h get out the way!!!
Oh yeah big boy stayed and finished his workout…him and I plodding heavily along…nasty stares, comments and all.

Training aimlessly…day in and day out. Always looking in the mirror to see the results and they’re not there. It must be the routine…so change the routine after only two weeks of work… Yeah just start over. Why do we do this to ourselves? It is the same for dieting…after two days of drinking water we expect to dramatic results, uh nope! Not happening. It is said that it takes at least 30 days for an action to become a routine…not two weeks!! Time is not the only factor… how hard you work while at the gym is another factor: if you are lifting the same weight that you started with six months ago; it is likely you will not longer see any gains and this can be a source of frustration that can cause one to quit working out. Shit in life doesn’t come easy and creating a new body form the old defiantly falls into that “not easy category.” Put in the time and put forth the effort and the changes will come…trust me they will come. Some people say that Rome wasn’t built in a day…true; well you didn’t get out of shape over night.

Is it necessary to be like by everyone or is ok to piss people off every now and then? Must you be liked by others in order to be an affective member of society? Not a total douchebag, but blunt, direct, no punches…you know “Do I look fat in these jeans?…YES!” I know…I know what about the person’s self esteem… well what about it? It is called self esteem for a reason…it is esteem of yourself (Kat Williams) why do we look to others to validate us? If you put the jeans on and you start having breathing problems…need I say more? Be honest with yourself don’t lie…who knows you better than you? And another thing stop feeling guilty about enjoying thanksgiving…Ok you ate too much or you had a slice of pecan pie…big freaking deal!!! Get your butt to the gym and burn the calories…all the talking in the world will not make the calories go away or erase the fact that you enjoyed a meal…just punish yourself in the gym…or tell your personal trainer or your work partner and let them handout the punishment.

What is it with people and their public display of ignorance? I just don’t get it!! If you don’t understand what is going on around you…hey ask a freaking question!! Ok for the record I hit the gym at 5am reason being most people are not up at that time; I am hitting weights and can help but over hear a conversation going on about me… WTF…this guy is going on about how “roided “up I look…WTF? my first response to his comments would have been to bash his face in with a 90lb dumbbell and call it a day, but that would feed into the “roid rage” debate (not going there) I didn’t respond to his comments…I just kept pushing the iron, but he kept up with the yap, yap, yap…roids this roids that..i would never get that big…blah…blah…blah. I turned to him and said “I you don’t want to get big…wtf are you lifting for? To get “toned?”… Silence nothing he stands there with his pie hole gapping open. I really wanted tear him a new, but it wasn’t worth it. Look people don’t let nobody tell you that the work you put in at the gym is a waste of time or money…if straining under a lot weight gets your blood pumping then do it. For whatever reason HATERS are going to hate…you don’t have to explain shat to them …just let em hate. If you a girl with muscle…trust me you sexy…if you a guy and you jacked…keep lifting heavy…if you a HATER… go ahead and hate cause I am gonna keep lifting …b@&ch!

Let me start out by saying that one point I thought that personal trainers were a waste of time and money…I have since change that opinion…not all personal trainers fall into that category, some are worth it and some are not. Now before I get a bunch of responses calling me a hater and what not just read on a little more to get my point. This morning I headed out for another 5 mile run…in the rain no less, after the run I head on post to watch my son do his two miles on the track, there were two ladies walking the track at the same time, and after about a lap and a half they stopped and sat in the bleachers next to me and began asking questions regarding my son doing his laps…one lady asked if he was on the cross country team…I said no…so why is he running? Lady #2 asked…because he wants to I answered (smile) She then begins to tell me that she can’t get her husband and son to do any exercise…I had no answer for her what she should do to motivate them…heck it felt like a loaded statement; and it was. She made the statement that I looked like one of those personal trainers types, before I could answer she goes into this tirade about how personal trainers are con artist and hers’ did nothing to get her to lose weight…oh really do tell.
She goes on to contradict herself at every turn…the conversation went something like this: PT was to controlling…she expected me to make every session and if I missed one she would call asking if I was going to show, I asked her isn’t that what a good PT does? This lady says “I pay her to train me not babysit me”…ok?! She went on to complain that her PT worked her too hard during the sessions and that her PT had the nerve to recommend that she consult with a nutritionist about her eating habits, but isn’t that what a good PT is suppose to do? I guess that it is hard to deal with someone telling you push out another rep or change a certain aspect of your life…but again is that not a PT’s job? The story went on with her talking about walking out of session or refusing to take any advice that her trainer empowered her with…WOW…you stupid!!!! (Yep these words came out my mouth) you are paying this woman your hard earn money to help better your health but you fight her at every turn!?! And you sit out here bitching about her while sipping on a coke and sitting on your big behind? You have got to be kidding me…at this point her jaw dropped…what you need to do is go find your trainer apologize for displaying your ignorance…kiss her ass and start sweating. Poor thing she just got up and waddled away…friend in tow.
My intent was not to mean to her, but when someone is willing to take the time to help you, granted she was paying for the service (hey the PT could have gave up on her and half-assed her training sessions) let the PT do her job. I guess her husband will be waiting on me next week (with a hotdog in hand) oh well I’ll just run around until he passes out J To the PTs out there on their grind keep doing your thing…to the shady ones…step your game up or choose another line of work. I will take your comments now…J

First off I hope that everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving… Now on to business…this website allow people to show the evolution of their bodies over a period of time, members of this site define the meaning of hard work and determination; just take a look around the site and you will find a story or situation that you can relate to…on this site you can get real time feedback questions on everything health related or get insight on supplements from other members…there is a great deal of knowledge here…some good and some questionable (you be the judge of that). With this said I can’t for the life of me understand why people feel that they can’t accomplish their goals? I realize that not everyone has great genetics or that oh so great high metabolism or the money to hire that personal trainer…but what we all have is the desire to change our bodies in some way. It could be packing on 25lbs of lean muscle for the next competition, or bulking up for the next football season….it all comes down to desire.
Too many times I see people looking to others to motivate them to lose weight or work harder in the gym, but what happens when that support is not there? What then? Honestly I feel that bodybuilding, weight training or weight loss is truly an individual thing…granted a good workout partner can force you push your limits, but again what happens when they are not there? No one can push you harder than you…personally my workout session have always been solo…no partners, this not to say that I never had any I have some good and some bad, but for whatever reason we parted ways. This leads me to another point…if you are overweight you can do something about it…some people will say different…ok fine, but don’t complain about the excessive weight, but if you really want to lose the weight do something about it…get up off the couch…stop hanging clothes on the treadmill and start using it. If you have a thyroid condition or any other medical condition that makes it hard to lose weight, consult a doctor for input on what you can do to help the situation; don’t want to talk to a doctor…fine research the aliment and determine what you can do about it!! Just don’t sit there get and move.
Today we are plugged into everything, cell phones, internet, games, 500 channels of your favorite programs 24hrs a day…you can do it all and never leave the house…just sit there on the couch in the comfort of your living room eating ho-hos and ding dongs… years later you wonder were all of the excess fat came from and why your knees hurt when you try to walk up stairs. Unplug, get up, get out and get moving. Oh you are tech geek cool…if feel that you can’t lose weight without plugging in…try the Nike + system (no product plug intended) but you can use it to monitor your mileage, set goals, and meet other people online. Hey don’t like Nike shoes cool…there is a pouch you can purchase that will attach the senor to your favorite running shoes and away you go. The point here is to get up and do something…yesterday is gone you can’t get it back, tomorrow will take care of itself no matter…today is your time…do something about it.

Another good day in the gym…A little pack but a good day no less. As I worked out I noticed how many people lift in groups…not just two or three, but four, five and sometimes six!? what gives? If they were doing circuits with everyone rotating on different machines…I would understand, but they just stand around and watch a member of the flock do their reps…how can you concentrate on what you are doing with five other people looking down at you…that shit would freak me out…just thinking about make me uneasy…heck I have always preferred to life by myself because that is the way I have trained for the most part, don’t get it wrong…having a good partner in the gym helps with motivation, and getting that heavy ass weight off the rack and your chest. ; but it was the ones that didn’t show up on time or never focus on the job at hand that made my life difficult. I always do my best to work around these groups, because our gym is not that big, but some of these jackasses have no gym etiquette…I was doing upright rows heavy for the first time since I jacked my shoulder up…so I am feeling good cause there is no pain, so rather than run around looking for weight between sets, I just gathered up the plates that I needed in one location and went to work; now I hate to be interrupted while working a set…afterwards no problem. At the top of my movement this guy taps me on the shoulder and says "hey I am going to take this 10lb plate since your not using it anyway" and gives me this goofy ass grin like everything is good. I was like nah…go get your own plate from the rack…I am using that as soon I am done with this set. He gets pissy and says some crap under his breath, but I ignore it start adding weight to the ez bar for my last set…now here is when I got pissed off…again at the top of my movement someone taps me on the shoulder, at this point I just dropped the Ez bar and said "what!!what could you possibly want?!" Same fool…looks at me and says…"I think that it is messed up that you didn’t let use that plate when i needed…that’s not good manners…are you serious? at this point I lost it…I told this kid to get the hell away from me, don’t talk to me, don’t look at me…and went back to lifting. I glared at him as he slinked back to his clique.
This may seem a bit harsh, but hey I don’t bug people in the gym…if I do I wait until they are done lifting. So whats bugging you today?
