Functional Muscle

It comes at a price…In my line of work being able to run 2 miles in a certain time limit is a a must. On a great day I can pull 14:00mins flat but I feel every inch of those two miles (LOL). What the hell does this have to do with mass…well everything!!! Be it muscle or fat it takes effort to move it. See the Army’s physical fitness test works like this (if you don’t know already) 2mins for pushups, 2mins for situps and a 2mile run. After knocking out 80pushup and 80 situps…running is the last thing on my mind…freaking hip flexors feel like jello, lower back is in a knot..and the blood hasn’t return to my triceps yet and you want me to run…no problem. Did 2miles in 15:30 not bad for an old fart. If you have mass and you can move it..it is functional muscle (muscle mass not fat) Think I am going to change my blog’s name to “RUN FAT BOY RUN”…oh yeah this blog in way endorses the paper doll effect..get your damn weight up.
