Today I began week two with my chest day, my bench strength is absolutely attrocious so my main focus is to be able to load the bar with plates. Last week I had one of the most grueling chest workouts I’ve had in a long time and this week I implimented a new tactic to shock the my pecs, the pyramid. The layout is very simple and utterly exhausting.
It begins with a warmup set of 50 reps with little or no weight
Set 1-15 reps, pick a weight to fail at about 15 or 16, make it tough
2-12 reps with heavier weight
3-10 with more weight
4-8 with more
5-6 with more
6-3 with more
7-1 rep max
Then reverse the order, pyramiding back up from 6 reps using the same weight on the earlier sets. Personally I could not get the full 15 on the last set, I struggled badly with 10, racked the bar, did a rest pause of 15 seconds and could only get 3 more. Finish with one last set of 50 to maximize the pump and finish with 30 minutes on the stationary bike. You get out of it what you put in, I made it grueling.
thank you and good luck

Lifting exclusively for power, chest is demolished. Started with 3 warmup sets of 50, 40, and 25. Then 5 sets of flat dumbell bench, 12, 10, 8, 6, and 5. Next was barbell flat bench, 10, 5, 3, and 2. About this point I was dying, but I had more to do, next was the seated bench machine, i chose a weight and would do a fixed amount of reps for a set, then rest and do it again with the same weight and reps, then raise the weight and lower the reps. The sets were 5, 5, 4, 4, 2, 2, 1, and two finishing sets of 25 with a much lighter weight. My last excercise was machine flies, I used the FTS-7 technique, doing 7 sets of 7 reps to finish the workout. My chest is completely exhausted, one of the toughest workouts i’ve done in a long time. Arms tomorrow, higher reps, no less intensity. Thank you and good luck

My latest and greatest program. Why? Simply because p90x is just not for me, I truly hate Tony Horton and don’t enjoy the workouts. Maybe later on I can come back to it, probably not tho. I will finish out the week and then put myself through my own personal hell.
The objective-gain as much lean mass as possible while building strength and lowering bodyfat.
The means-the most excruciating workouts ever, set to test pain tolerance and make muscles explode (I’ll post workouts later on)
The diet-two weeks ironwork with high carb/high protein (2 grams/pound of bodyweight) followed by cardio week with 1 gram/pound of protein and low carb (75-150 grams per day)
The deadline-at least 4% decrease in bodyfat by September 1st, one month
The supps-currently on BSN Syntha-6 protein, taking GNC Amplified creatine 189 tablets, experimenting with CLA, Green Tea Extract, and Lipo-6, (not all together though)
Stay tuned-program starts Sunday,
thanks

p90x week one finally in the books, it was tough but I really believe I push myself harder, not for the same duration, but the intensity is definitely more. Tomorrow I start tightening up, the first week I just tried to eat big in order to meet the caloric needs, this week I start eating big but also eating clean, eliminating excess carbs and excess fats. I will also start doing cardio in the mornings in order to kickstart my fat-burning onslaught. After week one I feel great and now have another mean of inspiration as I get to watch my mom start her journey on p90x Lean. Stick around for updates, progress pics next monday, weight and bodyfat totals tomorrow. Hopefully I can inspire someone, whether it be on here or in my daily life, if anyone is bettered in any way by what i’m doing, then all of this was a success,
thank you and good luck

i’ve resorted to using someone elses program to achieve my goals, i’m starting p90x to help me lean out so later i can concentrate on size and strength. I am going to be doing the p90x doubles program to speed up results and hopefully i won’t go the full 90 days. I am going until i feel like i have gotten my moneys worth, until i am satisfied with my physique and am ready to go on my own again. But i guarantee this time will be different, i will see results because i have found my flaw, undereating. looking back there have been times where i have been burning almost 1,500 calories more than i was eating. I was lucky to get a gram of protein per pound of bodyweight, which was obliterating my results. The cure-following the p90x guidelines and actually calculating my caloric needs. I need 2,800 calories per day, and following the phase 1 plan of p90x i need 350 grams of protein, 210 grams of carbs, and 56 grams of fat per day to optimally perform. I’m extremely nervous, but not for the intense workouts, but for the diet, i’ve never eaten that much in my entire life. I plan to keep everyone updated and stay motivated,
thank you,
and good luck to everyone

it’s been a while since the last time I’ve checked this account. I am now out of high school and scrambling to find my legs in the real world. I turn 18 on the 8th and I am deeply disapointed at where i’m at with my physique. Virtually every goal I set for myself is now reaching the harsh reality that I just couldn’t do it. I didn’t stick to my goals, I wasn’t hard enough on myself, I’ve even blamed school and everything else that cluttered up my workouts. Whatever the reason, I sit here knowing that I have failed. But why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up.
I am currently on week two of my summer program, the details of this program are quite simple, eat clean and work out. No guidelines, no deadlines, just me busting my ass day in and day out in order to try and make it up to myself. It is leaps and bounds easier to stick to this routine because now without school I have more time, and without any deadlines or complex guidelines it’s just easier to follow. I don’t know where i’ll end up in this crazy world, all i know is i wanna be prepared, that is the overlying theme of this chapter in my life. Whether it be the Air Force, college, or just sweating in a gym somewhere, i will be prepared for it.
This is when i get back to my roots, what got me started in bodybuilding, the feel of iron. The screaming of every muscle fiber telling me to stop but my head telling me just one more rep. The feeling of accomplishment using annhialated muscles to peel off a shirt drenched in sweat. The feeling of growth, being able to look at myself in the mirror and actually see progress. The life i want.
For anyone reading this feel free to intervene; compliment me, inspire me, challenge me, or even just silently monitor my progress. Anything is greatly appreciated, I owe it to everyone on here. Everyone facing the same or even greater challenges as me. I will stick to my workouts, I will give every rep of every set of every workout everything I’ve got, I will be smart about every decision, I will be prepared for anything, I will be a new person.
