I Have Already Won
Initially, like most contestants, I entered with aspirations of what I would do with twenty-five thousand dollars. I thought, “All I need to do is fill out a contest form, take some pictures with a newspaper and oh ya, get into shape”. I had wanted to do that anyway. Summer was right around the corner so I might as well drop ten or fifteen pounds, show off my rock hard ripped abs and win some money.
Seeing me through discriminating eyes of the camera was a harsh taste of reality. Several weeks passed by before I realized that my simple plan was flawed. I counselled with my training partner who confirmed that I was doing all of the right things. He told me to, “Just do the work”. It was the plain and simple truth.
As weeks went by as I buckled down and got myself into a rhythm of diet, supplements, and exercise. When I felt moments of weakness I always came back to Bodyspace for visual inspiration and education. By April, friends were noticing my dramatic changes. I had become more confident and I enjoy talking with people a little bit more.
It took 31 pounds to discover my potential. Now that I have completed the contest, nevertheless the contest outcome, I know that I have already won. Beyond this competition I will continue to use the newly acquired education to continue on my fitness journey and inspire my friends along the way.
