Diets…no idea honestly!
So I’ve decided to make some major changes in my life with the hopes of competing and getting back into modeling in the future. I’m 5′.5′’ and about 140 lbs right now but would like to get down to 110. The hard part is that I honestly have no idea where to start when it comes to a diet. I read articles and they all say something different. I also live with my fiancee and his family who loves high fat and fried foods…yuck! So that makes eating clean even harder! Any advice would be so helpful and greatly appreciated!

When I read the Abs Diet, it clicked. In a nutshell, if you eat better you will feel fuller adn get more energy out of your food. Look at ingredients, sugar, Hydroginized Oils and HFCS/any kind of sugar adds up. One place called it like a perimeter diet, stick to the perimeter of the store. Natural not boxed and watch you portions and all of the extras, sauses, butter, toppings they add up as well. As far as the Family, good luck

I cleaned up my diet in several stages.
The first stage was the hardest, and also the most important : ditch the sugar and saturated fats. If you can give up muffins, donuts, juice, sugary desserts, breakfast cereals, french fries, etc you are more than halfway there. For me giving up the nasty fatty foods was a snap… Giving up sugar was 2-3 weeks of hell.
The next step is to balance your macro-nutrients. That is protein, carbs, and fat. The right ratio is probably dependent on the person, but most people have way too many carbs and way too little protein. I got turned on to this by reading the old "Zone" diet. I eat more protein than he recommends, but I still follow the basic outline.
One trick I found that works is to make sure you have a supply of good food everywhere. I keep a stash at work of tuna, good soups, almonds, etc. so if things get busy I can still eat something healthy instead of hitting the deli or ordering out, or whatever.
As far as the family members go, that one’s tricky. Maybe you’ll find if you take the plunge, they’ll follow. Good luck!

I started out with a diet I found in an old Rachel Mclish book and stuck with that for 30 days without cheats.
I’m you’re height and started out in the mid-140’s and lost 10 lbs in a month (I included cardio too).
It was basically a diet of lean meat, vegetables, eggs, a piece of fruit, and almonds. I had a hard time the first week, but after that the month sailed by.

I know I don’t look like much now, but my philosophy has always been, eat what you want, just eat less. Diets cause a void that needs to be filled when the target is met, which is why you must then diet again later.
I’ve lost 25 pounds in 3 months and have done nothing more than eat less of what I used to, don’t eat past 6:00 pm, and excercise.
Good luck to you.

you just need to be dedicated with eating clean and it will start to rub off on everyone around you!! It’s hard for me also cause my wife isn’t on board with the clean eating but i manage to lose weight and she is slowly coming around. Friends at work have embraced better eating cause of me, so just be honest and true to yourself and the rest will workout.
