Alcohol follow up
So I’ve been trying to stick to my goal of not relying on alcohol as much to get me through the week. So far, I drank twice last week and haven’t had a drink this week (yet). I haven’t been going out as much, and it’s saving me money and brain cells. School starts back up in less than a month and I’m already a year behind, so I need to focus on graduating.
As for my uncle’s case, just the other day the police caught a man involved in his murder. These detectives are really working their asses off. Life is slowly but surely getting back on track. I’m starting to drink less, I’m getting along with my parents a little better, and I’m focusing more on my future. I still think about my uncle everyday and miss him dearly. When something funny happens or I think of a random memory from the past, I wish I could call him up and talk about it. I know that he wouldn’t want me to sit around and be sad, while crying and drinking all the time. That is why I’m really trying to focus on getting through school and make changes in life.

Ash,
Good for you and best wishes.
I too am trying to stop the alcohol pitfall. Alcohol has always been my downfall to everything good in my life. I’m 6 days without a drink right now and hope for many more.
keep in touch and let me know how you are progressing.

Ash,
I remember when my PT told me only one dessert per week, I was like "OK", next session she was like "only two drinks" per week…..and I was like "Are you sure"….next session "Cardio 6 days a week"….SIX DAYS A WEEK !!!!!, next session - WE CAN’T TALK ABOUT SEX - WE CAN’T TALK ABOUT SEX!!!!!! OMG !!!
Wow - the whole thing was an eye opener for me!!!!
I was hearing all these rules for the first time…
My take on alcohol is this, if you join a club and the club has a rule then you try to follow the rule. I was a pretty big drinker and the URL below was really instrumental in me understanding the "WHY" of why bb don’t drink alcohol. It really sets you back on your goals, your metabolism goes to fight the alcohol rather then fighting fat.
I hope this helps. Welcome to bb.com, the people are awesome !!! it’s a great source of inspiration and technical training.

I understand a bit where you’re coming from. I just got my 2nd DUI. I’m extremely ashamed and am not one to rely on others for things like a ride. Luckily I have amazing support from my girl and my parents. I never thought I had a drinking problem, just make some reckless decisions when I do drink. I haven’t had a drink in over a month and honestly, it feels great. Good luck and like Phoenix said, we can all be a sounding board for you!
