Progress

August 21, 2009

Well I am at the end of the first month of working with stevep78 and I have to say I am very very pleased with my progress.. my strength has increased considerably to where I am lifting what I used to think I never could. I am seeing increased muscle mass but in a compact way if that makes any sense :)   not getting huge just more compact and cut .. I am liking it :)   I admit I have spent every weekend partying so the diet and the alcohol consumption has been totally on me and I can just imagine where I would be if i was following his plan to the letter.. also my long lost sister came into town for a week so dinners were just bad bad bad .. so I am committing to the next 4 weeks of total committment to both the diet and exercise …. i can do it ! :)

Someone wrote me asking about a fat burner product I have listed on my page.. well i started writing back giving him my experience with it and I had an aha moment … Stevep78 you are 100x better than any fat burner .. I am eating more .. working out less and dropping weight .. and I know it is bodyfat not muscle .. I have utmost respect for the guy .. he obviously loves what he does and is great at it … check out his website and go for it .. the best investment you will make in my opinion gotta say thanks to steve and bb.com

Hurt my rotator cuff (rip) and bicep and per docs orders and the pain was out of the gym for about five weeks .. now i am scheduled to have surgery the end of April and will again be out of the gym for 4 weeks or so .. hmmm use it or lose it ???  i am hoping not to lose too much muscle during this time .. I have stopped taking all sups prior to surg. The shoulder is still giving me some pain but i have decided to pick up the weights and get as much workout time in before i am out again.  I am still going to compete this year if it is December 31st then ok  lol .. i am back to my obvious set point of 133-134 but i remember when my set point was 145 and i thought it would never change .. so i know never really does not exist .. it can be done .. today was 30 mins of cardio and chest (getting a little bit of shoulder involvement to test the water)   Five exercises of 5-6 sets  10-30 reps .. pyramid up .. yep i was smoked at the end .. hoping when i wake up tomorrow my shoulder is behaving :)  and did abs at the end  .. six meals today three shakes /***e 0 percent yogurt with blueberries / and turkey breast patty with yams / egg whites with spinach and peppers

Back from my first O

September 29, 2008

Back home after going to the Olympia for the first time.  It was a such a good experience that I am sure I will go again next year.  The hotel was not bad at all ..not the best but not the worst either.. nice and clean that is the most important …and very convenient to get to the convention center and to the olympia shows at night.  The convention center was packed but not impossible to move around. Seeing the competitors up close is great especially since at night if you dont have the greatest seats you have a real image in your mind of the athletes.  The olympia is not for people who workout but for fans of the athletes.. you will see young and old, all races, all ranges of fitness or not.. but you can see the love of the sport and the athlete in the look in their eyes and talking to them.  This after all is the super bowl of bodybuilding and the fans love to be there. You will not get a chance yourself at a superbowl to shake hands or meet in person or ask question of the superbowl athletes but at the Mr O you do.. you see the athletes in person and up close and they are the most beautiful people inside and out that you would ever want to meet.  I went to the Olympia seminar .. got there early enought to have a seat right in the front.. i did not want to carry my good camera so i had a small pentax and i have to say my pictures are horrible.. i would definitely bring my "good" camera next time even though it is bigger and heavier I would also make sure to bring an empty suitcase to bring home all the stuff from the expo,., i have 14 tshirts and a few shaker bottles and supplements out the ying-yang.. i had to stuff my clothes in a backpack and use my suitcase to get all the stuff home and i did not even make all the rounds my bag was simply too heavy for me to lug around both days.. Jay Culter walked in and gave everyone in line who asked an autograph and took pictures with everyone and is really i don’t even want to say the nicest guy you would ever want to meet it sounds cliche but he is a phenominal human being. He said he has been in second wanting to be first and he has the greatest respect for Dexter . Dexter said he thinks he is the new physique of bodybuilding and at first Jay was like we will see if i come back next year but after Dex said that Jay said well we will just see about that next year… Next year is going to be great .. I am going back .. the new kid on the block was like a cross between Jay and Dex  in my untrained eye anyway .. and lets just say next year is going to be exciting to see. Dex said he is not going to do the Arnold just prepare for the O .  Jen Hendershott said she did 4 hours of cardio then 3 then 2 instead of the other way around. She did 1100 calories a day and 40 grams of carbs.. well her strategy certainly paid off.  Anyway hope to see you all at the O next year :)

September 26, 2008

Well here I am in Vegas .. I am very happy to be here .. left work on Thursday night and got lost trying to find the airport park and ride arrrrgh  all the traffic lights are out my plane leaves at 7:15 it is 6:00 .. in my anxiety i drove past 4 city buses trying to get to my destination… guess what was hiding behind the line of buses .. yep the Parking Spot .. crap… stop go stop go stop go i will never make it :(   well made it eventually check my flight it is an hour behind schedule .. there is one boarding now .. wish i could get on it… Mr Stewardess sir would u put me on the wait list for this plane leaving right now ?  sure just listen for your name … whooo hoooo I am outta here :)   ok things are looking up :)    Anywhoo got up early gotta hit the Expo.. got in line ..not too long yet … hmmm this half of the line is moving ..what u say get on the bus we are outta here ?? wow I like this..  I have dreamed for many years of going to the Olympia and this year i made a decision to do it .. and it appears the universe supports those who follow their hearts doesn’t it ?  The convention was great .. I even ran into a long lost friend from San Diego I have not seen in 15 years .. I often wished I knew how to get in touch with her .. well now I do :) .. lets see 8 tshirts .. hats…shaker bottles and packs and packs of this and that … i was literally dragging my bag out of the convention center.. shook Shawn Rays hand sorry i just admire respect and love that guy he always seemed to have so much intelligence and great attitude and grounded ..I would watch his show on ESPN and then go to the gym and work it out Shawn Ray style .. yep .. he is so humble he told me who he was .. uh lord if someone doesnt know who you are then really dont tell them just let them keep walking :)   Sorry buff chick don’t remember your name but i did read your article..you have not missed a meal or a workout in 9 years .. lord have mercy .. no premenstrual migraines that knock you on your ass.. no fevers no sprains .. wow I am freakin’ impressed.. motivated too … can i live a regular life and still have muscles out the ying yang ..this is now my mission in life ..to get buff as possible in as little as possible time in the gym .. i like the cut lean athletic look but i also like to go to the movies and eat pizza and read books ect ect .. must I give this all up and live eat breathe pumping iron ?? hmmmmmm  I will find out.
