Supporting the Search for the Cure, One Mile at a Time

July 26, 2009
This year, I’ll be participating in a very special event called the Breast Cancer 3-Day.
I’ll walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of other women and men.  The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.
I’ve agreed to raise at least $2300.00 in donations, I know I can raise even more than that.  You can join me in my fight against breast cancer without even breaking a sweat!!! Would you please consider a $25.00 $50.00 or $100.00 pledge to support my effort.  Keep in mind how far I’m walking and how hard I’ll have to train.  You can donate online at http://www.the3day.org/.  Just click on Donate Now and search for my name VERONICA BURICK and it will take you to  my personal fundraiser page.  You can also call 800.996.3DAY to donate over the phone.  Keep in mind that your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extend allowed by law.
As most of you know, my mother did not win the breast cancer battle.  My mom was a strong, resilient, dignify, courageous lady. On my mom’s 57th birthday she was diagnose with breast cancer.   A very rare and rapid growing type of cancer.  She had to have her right breast removed right away and undergo chemotherapy.  Unfortunately the cancer returned, and this time in her chest wall, bones, lunges and brain. She fought it with chemotherapy and radiation, but  all this was too much for her.  On September 7 of 2005 my mom passed away at the age of 61.  My sister, brother and I saw her slowly slipping away, but we still held out hope.  We take for granted that mom will be with us always. Unfortunately atha is not true. We all still miss her dearly.  This 3 day walk is in my mom’s honor.
According to Susan G Komen for the Cure, more than 2000,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and nearly 40,000 will die from the disease.  That’s why I’m walking so far.  To do something bold about breast cancer.  I hope that you’ll share this incredible adventure with me by supporting me in my fund-raising efforts.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!!
sincerely,
Veronica Burick

Ooooh Damn……….

Day One of my 12 week journey

March 30, 2009

One word……HARD. Not my workout I can really get into my workouts. Today was upperbody, cardio. I was a little worry about my shoulder, and it did hurt, so when it came time to hit chest I went light. I could feel the pain and I saw how weak my right side is. I didn’t stop tho.

When I got to skullcrushers my right wrist started to hurt, but I mean I was doing 50 Lbs, so I had to drop the weight a little 40Lbs. I think for now on I will wrap my wrist for support.

Anyway Today was my first day on my 12 week regiment like I said earlier workout? no problem. Meal Plan? Well……….First of I have to count everything that goes in my body (not use to that) so last night I struggled mapping my food for today.  Today I go to work (I work with 18 other ladies) we have snacks everywhere, you name it we got it. from gum to chocolate cake.  At lunch hour, I had my tuna and they all had Wendys, and for dessert they all had chocolate cake that right there killed me I wanted a slice so bad, but I didn’t.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings……………I’m sure it won’t be chocolate cake, but a step closer to a better looking body.

Did Nitric Fuel cure me?

March 29, 2009

About 5 or 6 weeks ago my shoulder started to hurt every time I did chest, arnold presses, dips. So  the past 4 weeks I’ve been without motivation to get my workouts done, lots of cheat day, and cardio??????  Please No Thank You!  Friday I decided to go and buy some Nitric Fuel, took some before I steped into the gym I had a kick ass back workout, cardio and abs. That night no pain….very nice!!!  Saturday had a kick ass shoulder and cardio workout I had some pain while doing presses but that night and this morning no pain I’m sore from workingout but no shoulder pain.  I hope it goes away all together. So my question is was Nitric Fuel my cure?

Time to put my game face on!!!

March 28, 2009

I just signed up for the Meltdown Contest. No more "Im not motivated crap" I will keep you posted. I am so excited!!!!

I feel it coming back…..

March 27, 2009

For the past 3 weeks I’ve been with no motivation to make it to the gym, and even when I did go my workouts were a waste of time. I’m thinking all this started when I injured my shoulder, and wrist.  Today I bought some nitric fuel drove to the gym and when I got there  I kicked ass, cardio, abs, and  back, my pull ups were strong…..yay!!! I felt so good after I was done can’t wait for tomorrow to come so that I can hit shoulders.

Now I just need to stay focous on my eating. :)   Talk to you all tomorrow.

For the past two to three weeks I’ve been w/o computer at home, so I haven’t been able to come the the site, and my motivation has been low.  I’m still getting my workouts and I’ve been doing great with my new meal plan, but it has been so hard for me to get up early to hit the gym before work, I’ve been going after work, and is hard for me to get in to it but ooooh boy a s soon as I logged in BB.com my motivation jumped back up. My son and I will go to the gym later on today.
