Week 1 - Day 3

So it’s Wednesday September 10th, which means it’s officially day 3 of my CKD. How am I feeling you ask? I have no energy! I didn’t expect to be this exhausted throughout the day but I am. I’ve been able to have a pretty good workout on both, Monday (chest, shoulders & abs) & Tuesday (back & arms) but as soon as I sit down thereafter I don’t feel like getting up and doing anything else for the remainder of the day. And to top it off I had my pole dancing class on both days! So next week I’m only gonna go in on Tuesday until my energy levels raise to what they used to be, don’t wanna over work myself. Today I’m either suppose to take the day off from working out or do some low intensity cardio; knowing me, I’ll probably end up at the gym regardless of how I feel. Tomorrow is legs, and Friday is the final full body depletion workout before starting the carb up that evening. I’m not looking forward to either one of those workouts, hopefully I can still be somewhat efficient, I’m really gonna have to push myself.

I know it’s only day 3 but so far I’ve been 100% on track. But as in all my previous diets the way I see it is you either do it at 100% or don’t bother doing it at all. I hate half assing anything and that’s actually what I found most appealing about this diet, you really can’t afford to slip up once during the week or the entire week is shot to shit. That definitely keeps me on track. Imagine sticking to this for 3-4 days and then ****ing it up with a bite of carbs, knowing that the carb up is just around the corner. I’d be pretty pissed at myself! I’ve been able to keep my carb intake to below 30g each day, and most of it comes from a fibre supplement so I’ve done really well, today shouldn’t be much different.

Definitely looking forward to the carb up tho…. yummm I get to have oatmeal for breakfast, & trust me when I say that I LOVE oatmeal… but until then it’s hard boiled eggs with mayonnaise.

What’s your typical day’s diet look like?? I’m scared to do CKD because of the energy loss…

I eat every 3-4 hours so right now my day looks something like this:

08:00AM - Hard boiled eggs with mayonnaise OR an egg & cheese omelette.
12:00PM - Pork roast or Pork Souvlaki with a little bit of broccoli (for fibre) with butter on it.
3:00PM - Beef sausages or beef burger.
    5:00PM - Gym
6:30PM - Whey Protein shake with water (tastes nasty but from what I read you shouldn’t consume fat immediately following your workout, just protein)
7:30PM - Beef whiners with mustard or more pork left overs from earlier, depends how lazy I am to prepare something new.

I also snack in between to add more fat I’ll eat things like peanut butter, roasted almonds or I’ll have some celery sticks (not too many) dipped in some good old 16g of fat per serving veggie dip!

As for energy, so far I’ve found that when I get to the gym I am pretty much able to do what I came to do, I haven’t really dropped sets or weights so it hasn’t been bad at all, it’s just after the workout I am usually REALLY dead, and I also noticed that I need more sleep. Honestly, I can’t really comment too much on it yet, I’ve only been doing this since Monday, I’ll do another post later in the week, probably on Sunday after completing my first carb-up, then I’ll be able to give an overview of the entire week.

Also, I track my calories on fitday so here’s a link to my food journal if you wanna have a look:
