Body For Life

Following Mamaof2’s suggestion to visit the BFL program-I bought both the journal & recipie book. I really love that it’s a very easy program to follow and it will establish good habits becuase the program is 90 days long. After the 3 months, it’s maintenance or whatever other goals you may have. I did notice that that the recipies can include alot of white flour items, but it’s easy enough to substitute for whole wheat/grain or another veggie.

The program consists of eating 6 small meals with an emphasis on protein-perfect.  The weight lifting portion includes pyramid training and I know will yeild results if you challenge yourself. The only part of the program I question is the 20-minute cardio solution. According to the program, you complete no more than 20 min. of cardio (intervals) every other day. I feel this may be too small amount of cardio especially if your goal is a large amount of weight loss (as is my case). I’ve completed almost a week of this program and include approx. 40-50 min. of cardio instead. Regardless, it’s easy to tailor to your lifestyle and I’m glad for the great guidance it provides.

Hmmm, something’s not right…

with my nutrition. This weekend I was extrememly fatigued and had to take 2 very long naps in one day before I felt better.  I’m thinking it was a combo of possibly not eating enough nutrients and fighting off a cold, but I did not like feeling this way. For now, I’ve added back some fruits and continuing with eating clean. After resting, I had a killer workout on Monday, but I don’t want to have to take so much time off-maybe I need to up my caloric intake?

YES-people at work are starting to comment on "how it’s not fair that I can loose weight so easily and they can’t". Well, I don’t want to get into it with them, but I feel like telling them-"hey, it’s anything but easy"! There’s only one thing I focus on: my work is starting to show!  Fantastic!

Progress

My body is now finally starting to budge a bit.  I’m surprized at how many calories I had to cut and find myself conflicted about nutrition becuase there are so many differing opinions based on your goals, body shape, etc.  I read the transformation stories which are pretty amazing, but all have such differing nutritional diaries. I wonder if there are any universal diet plans which yeild great results?
