Well today I didn’t go to the gym, so I decided to get my bicycle out a take a ride. Good idea, right? Hmmmm??? It has been a long time since I’ve taken a bike ride and I was looking foward to it. I aired up my tires and then hit the road. I got on the road and everything was going great. I came to a big hill and coasted down it (fun). I continued thru the park and was enjoying the outdoors. Then I came to a red light. When it turned green I went straight and drove onto a sidewalk. I decided I wanted to be on the sidewalk on the opposite side of the road, so I made sure no cars were coming and began to cross the road. When I came to the curb to get up onto the sidewalk, I decided to try to bring the front of my bicycle up by lifting the front of it. My goal was to pop the curb onto the sidewalk. Well, things didn’t turn out that way. The front didn’t pop up, and instead the back of the bicycle went airbourne (with me still on it) and I crashed. My left leg was trapped between the front tire and the bike. I went down on my left side, with the bike on top of me. Man it hurt so bad, but I jumped up as quick as I could (not looking to see if anyone had seen me), and slowly pedaled away. I was hurt physically and emotionally (my pride). I forced myself to pedal down the road and then turned right onto a side street. When I was out of site of any potential onlookers, I got off my bike and licked my wounds. I had cuts on both legs and my left quad felt like Hulk Hogan just went Hulkamania on it. I made it home and after sitting down for a while, I’m stiff as a board. I’m going to be smelling like an old man tonight (icy hot), but I’ll be back on the bike, when I heal.

Today we got a lot of snow, so the gym was closed. People are driving crazy on the roads, so I’m staying home. We’re not used to having so much snow down here in Texas, but today we have to adapt and overcome.

My training is going good and my diet isn’t bad either. The problem I’ve had with my diet, is trying to eat, at the right times, while I’m at work. Sometimes we get busy, and I might only have time to crab a protein bar. On other days, we get real busy and I miss a meal. Not good! I shouldn’t complain though, it could be worse I’m sure.

I’ve been trying to eat every 2 to 3 hours and include a source of protein and carbs in every meal. Preparing my meals the night before, is much smarter than trying to do it at 5:00 a.m. in the morning, before work. I found I eat much better/cleaner this way.

Today I met some friends and acquaintances that I hadn’t seen for awhile. I got two complements on how I look. One told me I looked like I had lost some of weight and another said my face looked thinner. I was glowing!!! Ha! Ha! It’s always great to get complements like that.

My current supplements are whey protein powder (double chocolate), creatine monohydrate before my workout and L-glutamine powder before and after my workout. I think the supplements and eating clean has helped me, but I’m having trouble gaining muscle and keeping the fat off my waist. I’m working on typing my food plan up (currently wrote down on paper), so my online friends can look at it.

I try to workout 4 to 5 times a week. Sometimes I cannot workout because of my work, but I do get in at least 4 days a week. Monday is biceps, triceps and forearms. Tuesday is an off day. Wednesday is back and shoulders. Thursday will be leg day and Friday or Saturday is chest day. If I have an extra day, I will work my arms again and maybe some cardio. Sometimes, I have to alter this schedule and workout on an off day. The end

Well, it finally happen! Today, after I was done with my shift, I went to a section I used to work at, to say hello to some of my friends. It was good seeing everyone, and what made it even better, was the complements I received. Different ones told me I was looking better/good, and two of them told me, I looked like I had lost weight. I just gave them a big smile, and said THANK YOU!!!!

Well, this made my day and I’m still smiling about it. Hopefully, I’ll receive many more complements,in the future, the harder I train. Wish me luck!

Today was my wife’s birthday, this morning we had cake and ice cream for her. Well, I ate both and felt very guilty afterwards. After we were finished, I went to the gym to do some cardio and work my abs. I guess the sugar high wore off, because I became weak while walking on the treadmill. Later though, I felt better when I was working my abs. Next time, it will be oatmeal with yogurt for breakfast.

So later, we go out, with family to eat. I did pretty good. I had a steak with baked potato and a salad. Then we go to a local fair that’s in town. I was proud of myself, because I managed to stay away from any unhealthy foods that are present there.

Tomorrow will be a rest day, so I’ll be resting and eating good foods. I’ll need the rest, because I’m up late tonight. I can’t sleep!!!

Well, for the last few days I’ve eating Muscle Milk n Oats. Some of my friends at work tried it a while back, but they didn’t like it. I bought some on discount at the Vitamin Shoppe for a $1.00 each. I thought I would give it a try. I liked the ones I bought (Apple Cinnamon and Chocolate something). I guess some people may not like it, if they aren’t used to eating oatmeal. For me though, I enjoy the taste. I wish I would have bought more of it. Maybe I’ll go back today and they will have some more. It has 6g of fat, 34g of carbs. and 30g of protein. Yesterday morning I ate this with my coffee and I had a lot of energy for my workout. Yeah! Really, all a person has to do is use regular oat meal and sprinkle a protein powder on top of it. Then you have a homemade batch. Genius! To think I thought of that myself! Well, I bet some people haven’t thought of it yet.
