More jokes to brighten your day

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night, he checks his closet for Chuck Norris.

Mortal: What is a million years like to you?
God: Like one second.
Mortal: What is a million dollars like to you?
God: Like one penny.
Mortal: Can I have a penny?
God: Just a second.
Chuck Norris doesn’t sleep. He waits.

Two priests died at the same time and met Saint Peter at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter said, “I’d like to get you guys in now, but our computer is down. You’ll have to go back to Earth for about a week, but you can’t go back as priests. So what else would you like to be?”

The first priest says, “I’ve always wanted to be an eagle, soaring above the Rocky Mountains.”

“So be it,” says St. Peter, and off flies the first priest.

The second priest mulls this over for a moment and asks, “Will any of this week count, St. Peter?”

“No, I told you the computer’s down. There’s no way we can keep track of what you’re doing.”

“In that case,” says the second priest, “I’ve always wanted to be a stud.”

“So be it,” says St. Peter, and the second priest disappears.

A week goes by, the computer is fixed, and the Lord tells St. Peter to recall the two priests. “Will you have any trouble locating them?” He asks.

“The first one should be easy,” says St. Peter. “He’s somewhere over the Rockies, flying with the eagles. But the second one could prove to be more difficult.”

“Why?” asked the Lord.

“He’s on a snow tire, somewhere in North Dakota.”

Chuck Norris counted to infinity - twice.

Chuck Norris doesn’t get frost bite. He bites frost.

LIPSTICK IN SCHOOL
According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington was recently faced with a unique problem.
A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick, they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints.
Every night the maintenance man would remove them, and the next day the girls would put them back.
Finally the principal decided that something had to be done.
She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these li p prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night (you can just imagine the yawns from the little princesses).
To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it.
Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.
There are teachers … and then there are educators.

Back and Shoulder workout

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Today was Back and Shoulder day for me. I started on the smith machine doing military presses, pyramiding up and then back down with the weight. My left triceps and shoulder give out sometimes, from a previous neck injury, but they held out today.

Next, I did barbell rows. I did them on the smith machine as well, just to change things up. Again I used the pyramid method, for this and pretty much all the rest of my exercises. My face was red and the veins in my necks were popping out, lol.

I also did a lot of work with the cables to failure. I decided to use the cables to work my lats, instead of dumbbells, so I could keep my body guessing.

I’ve noticed by rotating from dumbbells, barbells, cables and machines that I can hit my body with the same exercises, but in a slightly different way. The results are being very sore the next day L and feeling accomplished after leaving the gym.

Tomorrow is cardio day, so I’m going to push myself hard on the treadmill, bicycle and cross trainer. I might even use the stair master………..if I’m feeling lucky, PUNK!

Chest Workout

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Today I worked my chest and now I feel drained.  I started off on the flat bench and concentrated on keeping my shoulder blades in while performing the exercise.  I felt a better stretch in chest area when I did this.  I couldn’t go as heavy as I wanted to, but I felt I had great form and kept my butt on the bench at all times.

Next was the incline, followed by the decline bench, which were done on the smith machine.  I did the same, with my shoulder blades, on these exercises as I did on the flat bench.  Again I couldn’t go as heavy, but I felt I got more out of it.  My chest was really pumped afterwards!

The fourth exercise was crossover cables.  I did multiple sets, while changing the angle of the machine to various heights.  I think I hit my chest really good doing this and kept it guessing for what was coming next.

I concluded my chest day with some pullovers and dumbbell flies.  These were like icing on the cake, because that little extra pump and blood in my chest was awesome.

Before I left the gym, I worked my abs (all 3 areas).  I love the feeling of leaving the gym feeling drained and knowing I gave alot of myself to get the body I want.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Well, my family and I went to the movies tonight.  Now I’m not a film critic, but I would give Beverly Hills Chihuahua a B+/ A-.  While it’s not the greatest movie I’ve ever seen, it held my attention throughout the entire movie.  Also, there were a lot of little kids there and they were laughing and seemed to be having a great time.  George Lopez is great as Papi and so is Drew Barrymore as Chloe.  I would recommend it for families.

Falling Down…..Ouch!

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

Well today I didn’t go to the gym, so I decided to get my bicycle out a take a ride.  Good idea, right?  Hmmmm???  It has been a long time since I’ve taken a bike ride and I was looking foward to it.  I aired up my tires and then hit the road.  I got on the road and everything was going great.  I came to a big hill and coasted down it (fun).  I continued thru the park and was enjoying the outdoors.  Then I came to a red light.  When it turned green I went straight and drove onto a sidewalk.  I decided I wanted to be on the sidewalk on the opposite side of the road, so I made sure no cars were coming and began to cross the road.  When I came to the curb to get up onto the sidewalk, I decided to try to bring the front of my bicycle up by lifting the front of it.  My goal was to pop the curb onto the sidewalk.  Well, things didn’t turn out that way.  The front didn’t pop up, and instead the back of the bicycle went airbourne (with me still on it) and I crashed.  My left leg was trapped between the front tire and the bike.  I went down on my left side, with the bike on top of me.  Man it hurt so bad, but I jumped up as quick as I could (not looking to see if anyone had seen me), and slowly pedaled away.  I was hurt physically and emotionally (my pride).  I forced myself to pedal down the road and then turned right onto a side street.  When I was out of site of any potential onlookers, I got off my bike and licked my wounds.  I had cuts on both legs and my left quad felt like Hulk Hogan just went Hulkamania on it.  I made it home and after sitting down for a while, I’m stiff as a board.  I’m going to be smelling like an old man tonight (icy hot), but I’ll be back on the bike, when I heal.

What’s going on in my world!

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Today we got a lot of snow, so the gym was closed.  People are driving crazy on the roads, so I’m staying home.  We’re not used to having so much snow down here in Texas, but today we have to adapt and overcome.

My training is going good and my diet isn’t bad either.  The problem I’ve had with my diet, is trying to eat, at the right times, while I’m at work.  Sometimes we get busy, and I might only have time to crab a protein bar.  On other days, we get real busy and I miss a meal.  Not good!  I shouldn’t complain though, it could be worse I’m sure.

I’ve been trying to eat every 2 to 3 hours and include a source of protein and carbs in every meal.  Preparing my meals the night before, is much smarter than trying to do it at 5:00 a.m. in the morning, before work.   I found I eat much better/cleaner this way.

Today I met some friends and acquaintances that I hadn’t seen for awhile.  I got two complements on how I look.  One  told me I looked like I had lost some of weight and another said my face looked thinner.  I was glowing!!!  Ha!  Ha!  It’s always great to get complements like that.

My current supplements are whey protein powder (double chocolate), creatine monohydrate before my workout and L-glutamine powder before and after my workout.  I think the supplements and eating clean has helped me, but I’m having trouble gaining muscle and keeping the fat off my waist.  I’m working on typing my food plan up (currently wrote down on paper), so my online friends can look at it.

I try to workout 4 to 5 times a week.  Sometimes I cannot workout because of my work, but I do get in at least 4 days a week.  Monday is biceps, triceps and forearms.  Tuesday is an off day.  Wednesday is back and shoulders.  Thursday will be leg day and Friday or Saturday is chest day.  If I have an extra day, I will work my arms again and maybe some cardio.  Sometimes, I have to alter this schedule and workout on an off day.  The end

compliment

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Well, it finally happen!  Today, after I was done with my shift, I went to a section I used to work at, to say hello to some of my friends.  It was good seeing everyone, and what made it even better, was the complements I received.  Different ones told me I was looking better/good, and two of them told me, I looked like I had lost weight.  I just gave them a big smile, and said THANK YOU!!!!

Well, this made my day and I’m still smiling about it.  Hopefully, I’ll receive many more complements,in the future, the harder I train.  Wish me luck!

Bad Foods Taste Good

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Today was my wife’s birthday, this morning we had cake and ice cream for her.  Well, I ate both and felt very guilty afterwards.  After we were finished, I went to the gym to do some cardio and work my abs.  I guess the sugar high wore off, because I became weak while walking on the treadmill.  Later though, I felt better when I was working my abs.  Next time, it will be oatmeal with yogurt for breakfast.

So later, we go out, with family to eat.  I did pretty good.  I had a steak with baked potato and a salad.  Then we go to a local fair that’s in town.  I was proud of myself, because I managed to stay away from any unhealthy foods that are present there.

Tomorrow will be a rest day, so I’ll be resting and eating good foods.  I’ll need the rest, because I’m up late tonight.  I can’t sleep!!!
