Falling Down…..Ouch!
Well today I didn’t go to the gym, so I decided to get my bicycle out a take a ride. Good idea, right? Hmmmm??? It has been a long time since I’ve taken a bike ride and I was looking foward to it. I aired up my tires and then hit the road. I got on the road and everything was going great. I came to a big hill and coasted down it (fun). I continued thru the park and was enjoying the outdoors. Then I came to a red light. When it turned green I went straight and drove onto a sidewalk. I decided I wanted to be on the sidewalk on the opposite side of the road, so I made sure no cars were coming and began to cross the road. When I came to the curb to get up onto the sidewalk, I decided to try to bring the front of my bicycle up by lifting the front of it. My goal was to pop the curb onto the sidewalk. Well, things didn’t turn out that way. The front didn’t pop up, and instead the back of the bicycle went airbourne (with me still on it) and I crashed. My left leg was trapped between the front tire and the bike. I went down on my left side, with the bike on top of me. Man it hurt so bad, but I jumped up as quick as I could (not looking to see if anyone had seen me), and slowly pedaled away. I was hurt physically and emotionally (my pride). I forced myself to pedal down the road and then turned right onto a side street. When I was out of site of any potential onlookers, I got off my bike and licked my wounds. I had cuts on both legs and my left quad felt like Hulk Hogan just went Hulkamania on it. I made it home and after sitting down for a while, I’m stiff as a board. I’m going to be smelling like an old man tonight (icy hot), but I’ll be back on the bike, when I heal.

This blog was hilarious! It is so funny because last year when my husband got his road bike he had to buy clip in shoes and he fell like 3 times because he couldn’t get the clips out fast enough when he was going to stop. Well I hope you feel better! Don’t be afraid to get back on the bike.

Oh no - that is AWFUL! I’m so sorry that happened to you! If it makes you feel better, I trip or fall at least once a week. I’m not even embarrased about it anymore, it happens so often.
PS - IcyHot rules! If I have to torture my cube mate with it, I will. It works great!

Hey, that’s friggen awful
I can’t say that I’ve fallen from a bike, but I used to do some stupid stunts on my rollerblades that were dumb, but what you did wasn’t dumb, just an accident. I always ride with traffic; on the road with a bike lane.
I hope your wounds heal very soon! Don’t give up biking, since I started this time around and actually have added it as part of my training, great things have happened to my body
You’ll be fine!
Hugs!

Yikes!! I imagined something out of a Jim Carey Movie. No worries though, Ive attended the school of hard knocks as I got a road bike and am still learning how to clip in and out.
