Friday, February 20th, 2009"You change the structure you change its function" or better yet "form follows function"
thats the first thing my professor said to me [well to the class] and I can remember it vividly
my reaction sort of like a light bulb going off as were it stuck with me that whole day
now mind you he was speaking of protein[structure,function, denaturing protein etc…] he gets off
on proteins…dont ask![another story for another time] so yeah back to form \function
although he was speaking of proteins it can be tied back to bb\weightlifting HOW!?
read on and I will tell you ok so how many times have you seen some guy throwing around an asinine amount of weight
say for ex on bb curls he is just throwing the weight up there[he has got back ,quads,tri, everyhing but the target muscle working[note we are not talking about cheat curls im speaking of excess weight[changing an exercises[or er] form
which then alters its function[actually witnessed this yesterday!] now dont get me wrong Im not saying that
you should be relegated to strictly light weights because it doesnt alter your form thus changing its function
Im also not saying that cheating or getting that extra little upmh to get the weight where you need it to be
but once its there if the muscles arch of flexion is compromised then its TOO HEAVY!!
