I Benched 145!!!

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

Today was chest day. I benched 145lbs. It was the first time that I have ever done that and it felt really good. I didn’t really have that much time to work out so that’s really the only thing I did that is really noteworthy.

No training yesterday. I slept for 18ish hours and I feel really good. Ready to be back on the wagon today when I wake up :)

Back Day

Saturday, May 12th, 2007

HI, today was back day. I didn’t deadlift :( because my lower back was a bit irritated from a previous injury. The workout was nothing ground breaking or anything but I felt like I made progress and maintained my energy levels throughout. Let’s see, I guess my accomplishment for the day would hace to be the lat pulldown. I did it with 115lbs for 8 reps.

My nutrition has been up to par. Today is the first of three carb depleting days after a week of carb loading. My next cheat day is on Tuesday. The low-carb thing sucks tonight because I am working the graveyard shift and I have been awake since 11am. So I have gradually decreased my intake throughout the day. It is now 1020pm and I am really feeling it. I had to go eat some PB in order to not eat one of the hundreds of cookies someone brought in. All I have left to eat is one hamburger pattie and some avacado, and then a protein shake(which I will have at about 3am) I get off at 6am so I will have some cottage cheese when I get home. What a life!!!

I curled 60lbs.

Friday, May 11th, 2007

Today was officially decicated to biceps/shoulders. My great accomplishment was that I BB curled 60lbs for two reps. I was intimidated at first and I wasn’t going to attempt it. I wasn’t intimidated by the weight really, but I was intimidated by the other people in the gym because the first time that I curled 50lbs one of the trainers at the gym stopped what he was doind (training someone) and came over to tell me that I wasn’t doing anything for myself by trying to lift that much. I couldn’t believe that he said that. What am I supposed to do..go in there like most other girls and dance around for a few minutes without lifting anything?? No, I want to lift heavy. Anyway, you can imagine my trepadation in attempting 60lbs. But I went for it and I am really glad that I did.

Tricep Day

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

I finally got home to LA and when I landed I went straight to the gym. I had a really good tricep day. I did the close-grip bench press. My best was 100lbs for five reps. Then I did the cable pulldowns. My best there was 50lbs for three. Then I finished with skullcrushers with a 40lbs BB for 6 reps. And finally I ended with some unassisted dips. I need to work on those though..

YAY

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Today I finally had a workout that felt productive. I did legs instead of biceps/shoulders. After I finished my leg routine I idn’t want to leave so I decided to do some BB curls just for fun. I did two sets of 50lbs for five reps! That is by far my best. Then I was able to curl 55lbs for three reps. I left feeling quite accomplished anxious to do it again. I have been intentionally omiting any information regarding my current nutrition plan because it has not been stellar this week. I fly home tomorrow thank goodness, so I will be able to get back to normal!

Stuck in Nashville…;)

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

Ok well my trip is ending on thursday so I will be able to get back to normal. I am in Nashville until then. I was able to make it to a real gym tonight, but I was highly disappointed with my workout. I decided that if anything would make life better it would be a nice, solid chest workout. Here is what I was able to accomplish:

Bench Press: 1(set)X95(lbs)X10(reps), 1X105X5, 1X115X3, 1X115X2, 1X95X8

Incline Flye: 1X35X10, 1X40X8

Machine Flye:1X90X8, 1X75XFailure

I could not mentally get into it. I still feel like I had a decent workout, but something was off. I really hope that with a good nights sleep I will be able to do biceps/shoulders tomorrow.

Stuck in Alabama…

Monday, May 7th, 2007

OK, I am here on a business trip in southern Alabama and I am absolutely apalled with the condition of Hotel Gyms. I went down to do some cardio today and lo and behold all the equipment they had is a stair climber and a treadmill. So I got on the treadmill prepared to do an hour of cardio when all of the sudden the thing starts shaking and doesn’t stop until I slow the speed way down. Now, any child can look around wal-mart and tell you that there is zero emphasis on healthy living in this country, but I mean come on…The hotel that I am staying at is brand new and the equipment is already in disrepair. I would really like to know how people travel all of the time and still find a way to train and eat properly. I have been carrying my Syntha-6 with me every where I go in my bag because there is just nothing out there that I can eat on the run that I am willing to put into my body (cottage cheese is unfortunately not as durable as I would hope ;) ). Any suggestions?
