Back to the grind…

Monday, January 28th, 2008

angie5

Ok..so not doing so well on keeping up here, but I am so incredibly busy! I am going to hire an assistant, so then hopefully that will free up some of my time to get stuff done!

So..I took 5 days off from workouts and then another 5 days of light workouts and now I’m back to work.

I am now doing the workouts from the NROL For Women. I started them last week and they are working me pretty good. The only thing that I am worried about is the heavy lower body lifting. I would LOVE to go heavy for my lower body, but my back won’t allow it. I was seeing some serious results before taking the time off, so I am so ready to kick ass and get some more great results. I am not sure if it was the workouts or the Hot Rox or both, so will be interesting to see.

I have really cut down on my carbs and think that might be a good thing. On my time off, I ate MANY carbs..lol…and could see where it all went..my thighs and butt. :0( But at least I know that now and I am working in those starchy carbs around my workouts or just in the mornings after hard workouts.

Pictures are in April, so I still have a little over 2 months to look amazing…and I’m so ready to do it! After that, its time to get pregnant, so have to look good just in case I am unable to have this body after a baby! lol

End of Week 1 - Hard Core Fat Burning

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

angie5

So this week was pretty good one. I got in all workouts: 3 strength training with some bodyweight circuits and couple days of intervals. My body is SORE from thursdays workout. I don’t normally work my abs, and I did decline knees ups 3×15 and WOW..couldn’t hardly get out of bed! But I love it ( my husband doensn’t….listening to me moan and groan every time I move! LOL)

I started creatine this week, only using it before and after workouts, about 2 heaping tsp each day then. Took measurements and me no likey…hope its the creatine..lol. Also weight went up couple pounds! And here I thought I was losing! Anyhow..I want to stay on the the creatine a couple more weeks and see what happens.

I think I am going to lower the weight when it comes to my lower body. Its growing too fast, compared to my lower body. So I am going to focus on form and s-l-o-w-e-r reps than weight. So when I am doing 8 reps, I will do a 4 count up and down. I hope that will help keep the muscle, but not build and that along with intervals, maybe help to slim it down a bit.  Guess we will see…

Last weeks meals about 80% clean, so this week has to be about 90%. I KNOW I can do it..I just HAVE to!

Could I be carb sensitive??

Monday, December 10th, 2007

angie5

I have been struggling with my diet for so long I feel so lost. I have done Keto for week and lost a lil BF, but not much, tried doing low carb and was really struggling with energy levels and now added more carbs in morning meals and its making me crave carbs like I haven’t in years!

This is so darn frustrating. I wish I had the money to see a nutritionist and find out what they think. I don’t seem to be able to figure it out on my own.

My friend suggested maybe trying a carb blocker, but not sure I want to use that either.

This week my meal are planned out to look like this:

protein shake w/ water

*workout

protein shake w/ soy milk

oatmeal muffin

homeade chix and veg soup

yogurt and protein powder

turkey and green veggies

* I just decided to add the oatmeal muffin and see how that goes… but only going to do that on weight training days..otherwise will do eggs and veggies.

Today I did BW intervals. Did burpees, jump squats and side jumps. Was tough….but fun!

Tomorrow is upper body and deadlift.

Good workout…

angie5

So this mornings workout was good. Mostly lower body with some back and biceps. Felt good and was definitely ‘done’ when I was done!

I am so tired of this back/hip problem that I have. I have been going to chiro regularly for this and I do so good for couple months, then all goes to hell. So frustrating! It doesn’t hinder my workouts and actually working out makes it feel better, its just AFTER the workout is when the pain starts in. I take ibuprofen for the pain and try to ice it when I can. Think I might just need another visit to the chiro just to make sure all is ok.

I have been eating more starchy carbs after my workouts and in the earlier meals and this has really helped with my energy level, so guess I need to keep that up. I haven’t been entering my meals into sparks, just planning them out on paper. Seems to be going pretty well so far.

Time for update….

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

angie5

So I’m done with the pity party….done using excuses for why I’m not making any changes…its time to suck it up and GET THE HECK TO WORK!!

This weeks workouts..Monday, some BW cardio, Tuesday, intense upper body workout and elliptical cardio, Wednesday, some Turbo Jam for cardio. I absolutely hate cardio, but am going to add it regardless. Seems like Im losing some muscle size in my upper body, so time to hit the heavy weights. My goal is really to build up my upper body to even my body out. Lower body is bigger, which is nothing I can do about that…but still needs some toning work and tightening.

Ok..so set a goal…for Christmas…I would like to gain .5 inch on my biceps…doable? I’m not sure, but can sure try! I would like to lose inch on my hips/thighs. What do these goals mean? Stepping it up in the damn nutrition department…no more "just one little bite". I need to get serious…!!

AHHH..what is wrong with me??

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

angie5

Ok..so not sure if I deprived my body of carbs too much or what, but this week has been horrible! I eat anything I see and don’t even care! I have meals planned out..but just don’t feel like eating what I have planned, so change it and then it all goes to hell from there!

My husband and I have been talking about trying to get pregnant, so I think maybe that has changed the way I have been looking at my meals and workouts. With trying to get pregnant, I don’t think it would be a good idea to lose any more body fat…being 35 is already a disadvantage, I don’t need more things against me.

So looking at my goal now then…not even really sure. I still want to tone up. Mostly lower body..have that extra fat still lingering around my butt and thighs, so I want to get rid of that..but not even sure its possible without losing body fat.

So I guess I am just a mess right now…gonna keep trudging away with the weight and hopefully get my meals back on track and see how things go….

Ready to rock ‘n roll…..

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

angie5

Back from vacation…had a blast in Vegas, had 4 days off and I’m so ready to get back to "ME".

I’m still working on losing that BF, hopefully getting it down to 17%, at least thats my goal for now. I am currently at 18.5%, so I’m getting there.

So, the newest workout routine is gonna look something like this:

Week 1 - Heavy Week, reps of 8 at high weights. 3 days of strength, one lower body, one upper body and one split. Cardio light on off days.

Week 2 - Medium intensity week, reps at 10-12. 3 days of strength, one lower, one upper and one split. Heavy cardio on days off.

Repeat. I plan to change the exercises up every 2 weeks to keep my muscles always working!

Nutrition will look like this: Calories 1600-1800, Carbs 80g, Protein 135g, Fat 101

In doing lots of experimenting the past couple weeks, I find that my body responds better to lower carbs and higher fats. So thats what I plan to keep doing, at least for the next month.

I plan to keep updating here, as much as possible. Life has kept me extremely busy, my training in the morning, working FT daycare during the day, training 2-3 clients each nite and saturday. Add to that, keeping up with website and website blog, plus all the other stuff that goes along with managing a website. But, hey…I love it!

Training so far this week: Monday-upper body and cardio, Tuesday- interval training on treadmill. Tomorrow is lower body.

Updated pix!

Sunday, October 7th, 2007

angie5

Well, I finally updated my pix and measurements! Slowly reaching my goals, but not there yet. I have been trying to really stay away from the starchy carbs, increase my fats and eat calories at 1800. It has really made a difference. I find that when I eat too many starchy carbs I get all bloated and sick. Plus I would rather eat more fats anyhows! LOL

We are heading to Vegas this coming Thursday, so will be on a ‘break’ for couple days, but then will be super ready to hit it hard when I get back. I am not quitting until I see that damn BF read 17%!!

Im back….

Monday, September 10th, 2007

angie5

I have been so super busy since the beginning of August and boy is it showing! I am getting my workouts in every week, thats been no problem, its been my EATING! Its not even really that I’m eating all that bad, just not what I would normally be eating and if I want to lose BF, definitely not gonna happen the way I have been eating. I need to motivation to get back to my clean eating! sheesh!! I think this weekend I am going to do a juice/tea/water detox diet. I try to do them every 4-6 months and it has been a while. For ME at least its a good way for me to put into practice my self control and it also cleans out all the cruddy "cravings" out of my system!

So hopefully I can hold it together until the weekend and then start up good and fresh next week! I am meeting a friend in Vegas ( her and her husband and I and my husband) and I want to look amazing! We both push each other to work harder and harder, so it is like some good motivation for me!

I will try to keep updating here more often so hopefully that will also keep me going!

Need to just do my workouts and stop stressing..I think

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

angie5

Ok..I think I stress too much about what I SHOULD be doing instead of what I AM doing. So, I decided to go with the DB/KB Fusion Workout from Turbulence Training and it looks like this:

Workout A

These are supersets:

*1 Leg Squat

*DB Incline Press

*1 Leg RDL

*Rows

*Squat

*Decline Pushup

Workout B

*1 Arm DB/KB Swing

*Spiderman push up

*1 arm-1 leg DB/KB Overhead press

*Waiters Bow

*1 Arm DB/KB Squat Press

*X-Body Mt Climber

*Turkish Get Up

*Push up Hold

*Side Plank

Workout C

*Close Stance Split Squat

*Block Push up

*Chest Press

*1 Leg Deadlift

*Deep Step Up

*Stability Ball Leg Curl

*Read Delt Raise

*1 Leg Calf Raise

*DB curl

*Close Grip Elevated Pushup

This is tough workout and a lot of exercises I haven’t done in some time..so it will be fun. I am going to stay away from HIIT for couple weeks and instead do BW circuits.

For meals, I’m just going to eat clean. I don’t need the stress of tracking calories right now. If in a couple weeks I don’t see any changes, then I will start tracking for a while and add some HIIT.

I have to get some new pix, my legs are looking awesome! Now if I could just tone that ass more! In time…patience, right?
