I really enjoy doing legs. I had the chance to workout early this morning. That is rare during the week for me. I did my walking lunges with 20-25lbs. After which I held the dumbbells and did squats. I also did the reverse hack machine. This is when you face the machine and lower your body hold the base. This is for your hamstrings. I had learned this move from the gym that Charles Glass trains at.
This evening iwent to the boxing class. This time it was a lil different. With so many people we work in stations. The instructor yells a lot. We do 3 min intervals, boxing ring, jumping rope, sparring with him, abs functional training, hitting a dummy, cycling hit and miss, and anything else that goes along with boxing. I was exhausted yet I needed it. Any day I have to talk to my soon to be ex, I did to hit something or lift something heavy. Just find a reason to sweat.
Tomorrow is chest and my cycle vcass at 24 Hours. I always enjoy teaching, I like to yell myself.

Shoulder day was war. I had a fight with a couple of weights, and although I hung in there, I finished last. I picked a fight with some straps hanging in the air a a big yellow ball. Glad to say I won that fight. My trainer is proud of the progress, just not the maintaining of my diet. Those darn cookies. I think I can, I think I can, I know I can, I know I can. Just call me the lil brown engine that could. Uh oh another saying. My second graders are in for a treat.
Back to work on Monday and court. My ex-hubby is going to regret this seperation once he sees this body.

As a nail tech that has competed in nail competitions nationwide, I am not happy with the hands I have seen on fitness magazine covers and between the pages. Cover nails look way different than salon nails. They are to be so thin that if you tap them they will break. The reason being, because they will appear fat and unnatural. Our hands and feet are an extension of our body. the body that we have been building. Please do not let them go to the dogs. Take care of these. A manicure (once a week) and pedicure (once a month) that includes an exfoliation would help rejuvenate their young appearance. For ladies who opt out for acrylics, ask the tech to for an exfoliant scrub when you wash yor hands. Tell her or him that your hands are sore from lifting, writing or filing and maybe they will give you some sympathy and a quick massage.
MEN:
Bitten nails are not attractive. I know you may work hard, but your hands do not have to feel like it. I know a lot of women who love nice, strong hands rubbing (not scratching) their body. Be mindful of calluses. They can be filed off, exfoliated and paraffin dipped. If your nail tech is not aware of any of these procedures, FIND A PROFESSIONAL!
Now for the feet. I use to hate pedicures, until I did Priest Holmes of the KC Chiefs. Not for the money, but his legs were so strong my biceps hurt after his massage. Not to mention he was not bad looking on the eyes. Serios though the feet. While in the shower, was between your toes and scrubs the backs of your feet and around the ankles. Make sure you massage in the lotion or oil after you bathe. Once or twice a week during the winter, rub your feet with Vicks Vapor Rub, put on some socks (warm if possible) and you will sleep like an Angel. You should also try it when you do AM cardio. It helps relax your mucles all over. I add this trick to my pedicures and call it the Winterize foot Wonder. I have just winter clients that have been comin just for that service for years.
Just like you can workout at home, you can maintain your hands and feet at home as well.
If your hands or feet are not becoming to you, please come to me!
I shook his hand and he shook my world.

OK I hate going to the gyma nd seeing some newbie who has not seen me before. Not that I am all that, but in KC to see a black women serious about working out is rare. So he comes up to me, I ignore him as I sing Beyonce out loud from my ipod. He motions to get my attention. As I do my squat I give him the 1 moment finger. He waits. I finish and pull out one of my ear plugs with a look of disgust on my face. He politely apologizes for disturbing me during my workout, but he HAD to tell me that it is good to she a sista working out. Just 1 nickel for everytime I heard that and I would own the gym. I smile and say thanks, slip my earplug back into my ear and continue with my squats. He waits again. I gave him the peace sign and start to sing Irreplaceable. Another member who knows me all too well, taps him and says she is serious, no time for small talk. He is persistent. After I completed my set, he lingers my equipment, smiling as he pretends to puh out some chest flyes (incorrectly I might add). I dance around as I begin my deadlifts. Here he comes again. I snatch out both my plugs and say, " Hey I just want to finish my set, I am on a time limit." He smiles and ask, "Can I talk to you when you are finished?" "Sure", I say with a smirk, glimpsing at my watch. After my workout, he approachs me to tell me he is new in town and just wanted to get to know some people. I write down a few websites of what is happening in the metro area and advise him to check these happening spots out. I shake his hand and smile as I put my hoodie on a walk out of the gym.
LIFT THE WEIGHTS OR GET OUT OF THE WAY!

Leg day! I love leg day. My trainer was sick so I had to train on my own. It was great. I really beat myself up in the gym. Sometimes I try to act like a baby with my trainer (does not work). Anyway I trained at the Y. It was only 5 people on the weightroom floor. I did a giant set of leg ext, abductor and adductors. Then I moved on to reverse lunges, squats, leg press. Followed by weighted walking lunges (my favorite) and db squats. I ended with sumo deadlifts, seated leg curls and that new exercise I saw in Oxygen. It was great. I did not want to leave the gym. But my brother kept blowing up my phone. He is unable to handle my two girls and his two girls for a long period of time. MEN! Check out gym drama, because I am such a beast in the gym, I ALWAYS get into some kind of conflict in the gym.

I overslept this morning. That is fine, I saw on the news that people were camped out in front of Best Buy since yesterday. It is not that serious for a 200 dollar computer. Maybe it is, just not for me. I am on my way to the gym. That is what is serious for me.
It is a leg day so I decided not to do cardio this morning. I have been running in the morning sessions. I must get these legs down. I don’t know waht it is about legs and men but when I say that, I hear, "Oh, NO don’t mess with them." I AM ON A MISSION, JOIN OR GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am happy my girls do not have cheerleading tomorrow. That means to the gym again and rest before my nail clients arrive.
I hope all had an excellent Thanksgiving!!!
I know I did, but it is back to work on Monday. Teaching is a wonderful thing. Just 3 weeks and we are out for 2 weeks. Working at a school that goes year-round has its benefits.

I had a quick dinner witht he folks before heading to another boxing class. This time with the orginal teacher, Aaron. It was only another guy and I. We did a lot of 1,2’s and 5,6’s, I mean the three minute drills leave me dripping with sweat. I was cute before hand. It felt great though. Now I have one qucik chest workout before I go to bed. Early morning shopping in the morning. I might have to use some of the skills I used in class if any one gets in the way of the computer I want.
KEPT MY DIET!

Today I took a boxing class at Scott Fitness. I was excited about it, before I got there. Once my wraps and gloves were on, it was non-stop punching. OK never took any kind of boxing class unless you count Turbo Jam. Needless to say, I had a fight with a punching bag and I lost. Since I refuse to be defeated, I am foing back for more tomorrow. YES ON THANKGIVING! My family does not understand why someone would want to workout on a holiday. If eating was a sport (which I think it might be) than everyone would be doing it tomorrow, right? Well as I punch and kick the bags, do hopping drills, and 3 minute abs crunch times, I will be laughing at all my overly healthy family members. These will be the same members that request that I write them up a workout plan come Jan1. Help us all!

I trained back with my trainer this morning. Usually we just do shoulder together, but since I am on Thanksgiving Break, I had some extra time. We did most of the usual, except he wanted to focus on definition. I had to squeezed more and stretch out further. Now all that was fine until he showed me something new. I don’t like new. I am a competitor, once I am introduced to something new I have to beat it and not let it beat me. I had to hold on to a bar and extend my dody as if I was posing (you know what that feels like) then pull my body forward staying inthe same pose (position) but tensing up my back. I think it was 4 sets of 20. Doing those made the other exercises a walk in the park. I was not a fan of hyperextension, after doing those, I love hyperextensions. I have begun to clean up my diet this week as well. I have experienced a new multivitamin called super-vite. It truly given me more energy.
I hope to upload some pis soon. I am going to buy a new computer for the after Thanksgiving sale. It is time.

I slept half the day away, except when the girls were asking questions. Finally, peace! I decided to visit 24hour and do my bi’s and tri’s. Excellent feeling! I am happy this is an off week from work. Being a teacher has it benefits. Paid vacations for the holidays. That means non stop gym action. Thank goodness allthe chocolate animal crackers are gone.
