Just the beginning!

Today marks the first official day of this ketonic diet. I obeyed 99%. I had about twelve cheez’its. I know but I could not resist, yes I could have but I did not want to. My diet is eggs, turkey, tuna, ground beef, chicken, asparagus, spinach, flax oil, mac nut oil and seasmin oil. Yum, so you see why the cheez’its were a lil tempting. But I will be 100% tomorrow. Although I don’t compete until May, this body will hold a sweet potato for a month. Yeah it is them legs and a$#!  

At the gym, we did legs and biceps. I can do the whole stack on leg ext for about 12 - 15 reps. My TP was like “Quit lifting so heavy before u do your squats!” I could not help it, I did feel any burn. So he decreased the weight and made me do 1 minute intervals. Yeah, I felt the burn then. He does not do squats; he is against making his rear any bigger. I guess that is the prison mentality. He has a killer arm routine. He calls triceps back arms. It is funny. He is rather amusing at the gym, makes my time go by faster, but he is far from nice. I enjoy working out with someone who understands my goal, is on my level and I don’t have to go home with him. Oh did I mention, I LOVE BEING SINGLE!!. At least for now I do. 

As for legs I only did leg ext, squats, and leg press. Like I said I have lots of muscle, just trying to peel back some layers of fat. It is time for some progress pics, maybe this weekend.  

I was hit on today at the gym by a 23 year old. I have no problem with age, but O’my! I was like, “Baby how old are you?” “How old do I look?” he asked. Me thinking looks can be deceiving but he was really cute. Actually he spotted me at another gym and wanted to holla. After a lil conversation, I decided to give him my number, a lil conversation can’t hurt. But huh, how am I going to work that into my schedule, conversation?

As I sit at work, prepared to keep my diet, I wonder how am I really going to do this. As one can tell from my occupation line, I do a lot! I actually took a couple of titles off. I work full-time as a 1st grade teacher, I am a full-time single-parent of two beautiful cheerleaders. They both are competitive cheerleaders. I am also going back to school for my Masters in Education. Plus I teach aerobics and I do nails on the side. Not to mention I am also a bodybuilder in training. I often wonder at the end of my day, how did I get there. I know it is only because of my Lord and Savior and I am thankful for Him.

It is just over-whelming sometimes. I think I do more before 8:00AM than many people do all day. By 8:00 AM I have done 45 minutes of cardio, a session of abs, cooked breakfast, prepared for work, gotten my girls together, prepared my classroom for the day, greeted 43 lil minds and taught 1/4 of my reading lesson.

Once my day is finished at work I am off to the gym to train with my training partner (who is a story within himself), or take my girls to their practices, study, cook, do homework and go to bed. Somewhere between that I manage to have conversations with adults and hear the news.  Would I like to do something else? Probably not. I enjoy my days, I love my students and teaching aerobics is relaxing, lol. Nails can get on my last nerves at times.

So once again as I type this (although I should be getting ready for Science) I wonder how do I do this? Better yet, how do I not?

I thought about being a bodybuilder, I acted by training hard, by body is reacting to my training.

I am ready for war baby.

Ketosis we go again!

I met with my trainer and was far from impressed. So was he. We decided to go for the May 2nd competition day as my bodybuilding debut. So we will start prepping 20 - 24 weeks out. I am able to put on muscle very well, just burning that darn fat. So he demanded that I go back on my ketonic diet not now, but right now. Oh but here is the good part. I get to have a sweet potato on the 7th day for the 5th meal. Ooo-wee! Well considering my bf% increased 6% there is no other way. I look forward to seeing what is underneath all this. I can feel the muscle, I JUST WANT TO SEE IT!!!!

My frenemy changed my avi to be funny. The truck said "Contents not suitable for human consumption". I logged on and was like WTF. Yeah she is a hacker and figured out my password. No it is nothing like that. We are friends, but we play mean games. Oh well, I thought it was funny.

I am back at work and I love all the new technology that was installed. I mean my school is loaded!!!! I look forward to a new school year. I am also going back to get my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction. I am in a cohort program and they pay 1/2. Therefore my Masters’ will only cost me about 8,000. That is Paris Hilton HOTT!

Once I get more time I willpost a lot more pics. My daughters are double teaming this season, I am going back to school and my work day has gotten 45 minutes longer.

Sometimes I feel like I need a man, but I GREAT things come with endurance, like strength and stamina!

Summer is coming to an end!

As a teacher, having summers off is always a joy. This summer was a lil different. I spent countless hoursin the gym. I did not have any out of town plans (blame it on the poor economy) therefore it was easy. I have put on some quality muscle and I am happly with my progress. I have kept a somewhat clean diet. If you don’t count the pizza and cereal.  Now I am taking a break from all physical activity. Yes ppl I said it. I am stepping away from the gym for a few days. Four to be exact. Yesterday was day one and if it was not for my children being home, I would not have made it. I plan on spending these 4 days preparing lesson plans and cleaning out the storage. Did I mention, I am so ready to go back to work. I do not see how ppl (able bodied) can sit at home all day and do nothing. Let alone not have an income, but being bored is enough to drive me insane. I did not realize how much I like routine until now. I plan on posting pics soon. I will not compete until 2009. So until then it more mass, more mass, more mass so I can show my mASS on stage!

New hair cut!

I did not go back to the gym for my second round. But I did do some stuff at home. I did some wall sqauts with bicep curls, frog squats, single leg squats and single leg dead lifts. Then I did the treadmill. I walk on a 10 incline with no hands. It is like hikin up a hill. My glutes are sore, but they look good.

I did get my hair cut off yesterday. I will post pics later. I am so happy!

Today is the baby’s birthday, she is 7. I am like slow down goodness. I don’t know if I am ready for this. We are going out of town for the Fourth and her birthday. Food is packed. Hopefully I will use the video camera! yippee

I have been sleeping like a hibernating bear. My goodness. I still get up at 4AM do cardio or even train. Then I come home, eat and go to sleep until my next meal. I did nails all day on Saturday and was so drained. What gives? I guess this is vacation. I get up to train twice a day, but other than that, I am out. Except when the girls are home (whenever that is).

Oh well. I di get a camcorder, so I will post video as soon as I stay up long enough to read how to work it. I like having nothing to do. Especially since I am always busy. i was going to bartend this summer, BUT my child support finally kicked in. Actually it has been waiting for me, but the state did not put an address in for me so they did not send it. My step-father said they probably needed more than me b/c they (the government) are broke.

My old workout partner has returned with his game face on. I had to fire him on the account of drama and too much booty watchin. If I could just get ONE of his cell phones out of his hand, we will get a lil further. Yeah he has about three. One for home, one for business and one for the ladies. The one for the ladies is the one I would like to throw out the window, expecially since they hate me. I actually trained with him and his boys last week, it was a prison style workout (will write about that one later). I thought I was a clown in the gym, get 4 ex-con’s and a die hard female lifting some weights, you got a gym full of drama. It was fun, but it kicked my butt. Do you think I let them know that, un-uh!

Keep it heavy and train hard. Off to do some chest and abs. 

I need motivation!

Now that summer is here, I am looking for things to do besides working out! Teaching at a year-round school, I felt like these days were NEVER going to come. I have spent countless hours in the gym wondering what to do. I look at my to-do list and say, "umm, I’ll do it tomorrow." Tomorrow comes and I say the same thing. I need motivation. Not to go to the gym, I got that. But to get the things done for everyday life. Like wash my car, get an oil change, change my last name back to my maiden name. Heck I need to take my clients check to the bank. Now I know I am trippin. I am sittin on money. That is not like me. The girls are at Freedom school during the day and I get so bored without them. I never thought I would say that. Well I am about to go find some motivation to do my To-Do list. I think I will go wash my car, or call my friend and watch him wash it.

I had started a new workout. It is my modified version of HST and HIIT. Well apparently it is working, but I am in some serious pain.  I have decided to REST today by doing NOTHING AT ALL.  My body is screaming, shut-up and sit down.
