Do You Dread Your Cardio Sessions?
I don’t know of too many people that enjoy cardio. I know there are many runners that like it…gosh I wish sometimes I was one! One thing that I have found that makes getting it done more difficult, is when I THINK about it beforehand. Let’s say it’s early morning, I am just rising out of bed and need to do my cardio. As I start my day…the worst thing I can do is PONDER whether I am going to do it. It’s funny how the body will respond to your thoughts sometimes if you let it. Then come my thoughts of: " I feel really tired", "this sucks", "my head kinda hurts",….."hmmm, maybe I’ll do it later instead." Um…bad move on my part. Things have a way of pushing that session way into the evening and then I am really too tired to do it. So I want to give you a tip …if you plan on it, just go DO it before you think or contemplate how much you don’t feel like it. This is helping me get them done, maybe it will help someone out there who over thinks everything like I do!!!

Good advice! That’s what I’ve been doing with leg day and it really works!
What is this cardio you speak of?

Just like anything else just don’t allow for any excuses. I think you’d like cardio more if you got off the machines and did your cardio outside. I find something inspiring almost every time I go for a run. Good luck making cardio more enjoyable. Keep Moving Forwards and enjoy your journey.

My thoughts play similar tricks on me! Personally the worst 10 minutes is the worst, but I tell myself just to do the 10. By the time I look down to see if I have done atleast that, I am already sailing through 15, 20 minutes. Once I am there Im not gonna leave. Have a good day and get that cardio done!!

I definitely could not do that with leg day. I have to mentally prepare and focus to get through my leg day. It’s brutal and makes my ass sore afterwards so I have to be in the right mindset. I don’t even think about cardio though…I just do it.

Couldn’t agree more! The difference is the: the 2nd place finisher stays in bed!!! the Winner is the one on the bike!! That’s all it takes to get me moving…why spend all the time and energy, lifting , dieting, depriving yourself, to not look your absolute best.
"Ain’t nothing to it, But to DO IT!!!!

I love cardio too…. actually better than the weight training. I love how exhausting it makes me. Real satisfaction of working out.
Great post.
