The Empire Strikes Back
The empire being my body that is. The first few days after my competition were no problem. I didn’t gain any weight and I wasn’t really hungry. Then…my body kinda freaked out on me! Carb cravings are ridiculous. I have been eating clean for a long time now and have not experienced anything like this. I know my body likes to maintain a weight around 137-140. I guess all the stress I put it through for contest prep screwed me up. Anyways, I have to remember that I weighed 209 once when I was pregnant. My body has gone up and down in weight alot. I think it is trying to get revenge through hunger…..ha ha.

i was going to ask you if this happened to you at all… i rebounded HARD after my competition. i gained seven pounds the first day! i was way too thin for mine, so the seven didn’t hurt me any but it took me a long time to balance out after that… it’s the only thing that makes me debate weather or not i’ll do it again. i know i was always so frustrated that i couldn’t eat clean for a week after having done it for twelve with no problem! i’m sure that old habits die hard though and you’ll get it back in no time, amy!

Don’t worry too much about it. After every show my weight has some dramatic fluctuations as well. Just be good to yourself. Precontest prep is quite rigorous and it takes some time for your body to get back to normal levels. In time you will be fine. Great job on your contest. Michael T

A friend of mine did a comp last year and starting the night of, went into a total tailspin - she binged for about 2 weeks, put on 20 pounds and still has not found a balance. I think her biggest mistake was eating whatever she wanted - whatever she felt deprived of, and it threw her whole system out of whack. You’re gonna crave things, just don’t let it get out of control! Find a balance! Take care, TRAZZ~
