Turn up the Heat Diet? by Dr. Philip Goglia!!!!!!
In the new Oxygen there is a 21 day diet that promises to drop 10 pounds and speed the metabolism. Its taken from the book Turn up the heat. The plan seems easy and I think im going to give it a try this coming week, it will be week 5 of P90X. It will be hard not to drink on the weekends, but the food plan seems so easy to follow.
Has anyone done Dr. Philip Goglia’s 21 diet plan? I need to lean out before summer! And this weekend in the O.C. its going to be 85 outside!! AAAAHHHH time is running out. So… any sugestings on how to drop that extra 5 to 10 pounds fast??
Thanks, Amy:)

So, how is the training going? I am curious about the P90X, thought I would see how you’re doing with it.

Its going good! Im doing it 5 days a week. Its hard for me to do the 6 because on the weekend im busy with other stuff. I feel alot stronger for sure… I would recomend the workout plan to my friends. I havent been following the diet, its just a little too much work. I just eat clean during the week, and on the weekend I drink and eat a little different. I feel you have to have some fun in life right!

I heard about the diet on The Doctors the other day. Sounds quite interesting.
I’ve also done P90X three times, and feel stronger and better than ever. Best thing I’ve ever done.

I am on day one of the second week. It is definitely hard to have the energy to exercise properly while you are on the plan. I didn’t follow the directions fully about cutting back (today I did pilates and played tennis) and I felt REALLY tired. But, the good news is that in the one week that I have been on it, I have lost 9.5 pounds. Judging from your picture, I weigh a bit more than you. Still, now that I have adjusted to the diet, it’s not too bad.

my friends and i are at the end of week 1 - we have lost weight but if i have to eat another cup of asparagus i am going to vomit — i am desperately trying to find some veggie substitutes for the ones listed — otherwise it is not too bad — as far as working out i have only cut out the two-a-day and am continuing my boot camp and weight training

I have bought the book "Turn up the heat" and there is a list of substitutes you can use for the 3 week diet.
You can substitute asparagus with summer squash, cabbage, mushrooms, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, green beans, spinach, zucchini.
Hope this helps.

I am going to start week 3 tomorrow !! It has been so hard to not work out hard as I usually do..but I am down 7 lbs. It’s been tough for me to eat dry salad..he doesn’t give much detail on using herbs or 0 cal condiments..but I have been using lemon juice and balsamic vinegar to make it palatable. And what about salt intake? As I tracked my salt intake I found my average to be 1000! Is that healthy? Im not sure but our RDA is 2200 mg so it gives leeway to add just a little salt to make the food you eat palatable I think. So cool you posted this I have been wanting to know other women who are doing this!!
But after this 3 week diet is over..then what? I am thinking of rotating my calories and carbs!

Diet…you cannot have your cake and eat it too!
You are limiting yourself by not watching your diet on the weekends.
Diet and fitness are a priority to you five days a week but you can undo everything in two short days. I have been able to keep my body fat at 10% or below since I stopped goofing around and the weekends.
Looking ripped all the time feels better than having fun on the weekends.
Cheers!

So I have beem following the 21 day eating plan since Monday- it is now Thursday. Monday was OK, Tuesday I felt horrible… Serious headache and exhausted. Yesterday I felt OK. Now today again I’m light-headed, have a headache, and feel very lethargic struggling to stay awake!
Up until now, I was eating a pretty good diet which consisted a lot of complex carbs, dairy, some veggies, and protein. However, I have been on a dessert kick for months….eating it everyday, sometimes twice a day….craving sugar like an addict! Which is why I decided to do this! And for me sugar is my enemy. Not how much/little I work out (although I hurt my Sciatica nerve so had to cut back on training since beginning of June…which didn’t help with my sugar addiction which put back inches and 10 pounds since April).. so I thought good time to do this since i have to cut back on my training….I’m slowly starting to get back into it…….however I’m really concerned about how awful I feel…not to mention I am bloated and my stomach is crampy from all the veggies/salad…
Any suggestions? I really want to drop this 10 lbs by mid August……but I feel terrible. Could this be from the cold turkey reductions on calories and cutting sugar out? Is this common and will I adjust? I actually had a bite size piece of a muffin top and I feel like 70% better than I did an hour ago..
Thank so much!! Any suggestions/advice will help!!
