Me and football?
Well my friends have told me I need to play football. I want to do well and know that my strength is decent, but I’m not sure what else I need to work on. Do cleans have a real need for football? I know I will need to start doing more overhead pressing, incline bench, front squats, and skill drills. I’ll let you all know how it goes.

i have played football for 4 years.. and your speed should defently become before strength any any pos. thats most important i think…it also takes a lot of skill training to work on that too

Cleans, clean and press, squats, deadlift and incline bench are the biggies. All power movement begins with the hip and is transferred to the ground and to your opponent. Watch and learn as much as you can about your position and have fun (hitting people and physically / mentally competing is fun). You appear to have a lot of good functional strength, use your brains out there and you’ll do fine.
