Breaking PRs with Scivation
Tuesday, April 29th, 2008Although I think I may be coming down with a cold I still went into the gym for chest, abs and cardio. I know, pretty bad of me to go out in public when I’m not feeling well. But I just got over a minor back injury and I’m making progress so I desperately wanted to get my workout in. Funny thing is that even though I felt like 75% I hit all of my goals laid out for today’s workout and exceeded some (this week is heavy weight of 4-6 reps for 5-6 sets). Based on the weight I set out to do, I wasn’t even sure I was going to meet those goals on a healthy day. I wrapped up with 45mins on the Cybex at maximum incline and maximum intensity (heart rate maintained between 130-150). So despite feeling less than great, it was a good workout. Now, I’m sure I’ll pay for it by feeling lousy tomorrow.
On a side note, yesterday was leg day and I hit a PR on squats at 300lbs. Now that I exercising better discipline with the diet, the Scivation program is starting to take hold. I’m starting to loose some weight (slowly) while my strength is increasing. Last week, I signed up for the free training program that Derek is doing so I’m hopeful that I will get my personalized program next week. I feel that I have a head start on it.
If I don’t hit rock bottom in the next 24hrs, I will hit the back tomorrow followed by a carb up meal and rest on Thursday – looking forward to carbs and rest!
Oh yeah, I’m am essentially out of supplements this week All I have is some NoXplode, Creatine, Glutamine powder and my Animal Pak vitamins. Not bad for being low but I’m looking forward to my restock which includes my Xtend and VasoCharge. I’ve been a big fan of NOxplode but I’m going to try VasoCharge - it costs less.
