Sunday, May 17th, 2009The Grasshopper - Chocolate Mint Protein Shake Recipe
- Liquid (Almond Breeze Unsweetened Chocolate Almond Milk or water/milk)
- 1-2 scoops of chocolate whey protein powder
- A few drops of mint extract (less than 1/8 Teaspoon)
- Several Tablespoons of high quality, good tasting cottage cheese
- 1/2 Cup pasteurized egg whites
- Splenda, powdered erthyritol or stevia
- 1 Tablespoon dark cocoa powder (not hot chocolate mix)
- 1 Tablespoon cream cheese
- 2 Tablespoons ground golden flaxseed
- Optional: pinch of guar gum to thicken
- Ice
This little triple protein concoction tastes like a drinkable Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookie!
Tips & Variations:
- Drizzle with low carb/sugar free Hershey’s chocolate syrup
- Get fierce and add even more chocolate - Another Tablespoon of dark cocoa and a splash of Torani Chocolate Syrup
- Add even more chunks of cream cheese to the mixture before blending
- Add 1 Teaspoon to 1 Tablespoon Virgin Coconut Oil
