i was feeling super drained all day and it was affecting my cardio duration… i decided to add in a very small amount of carbs to my diet… instead of having 1/3C oats in the morning, im having 1/2C…. i train twice a day….once around 130pm @ work and then in the evening, around 830/9pm…both workouts vary but are fairly intense and include HIIT cardio… after work, ill have 1 cup plain 0% yogurt w/ a tsp of coffee & splenda along w/ 3-4tbsp cooked oats+2tsp ground flaxseeds prior to my last workout…. i have a LOT more energy and ive actually dropped bodyfat% since i started doing this… at this point my diets pretty much trial & error…

i work 9-5 everyday, train 2x/day, personal train and do a few nutrition consults on the side so sometimes it’s hard to get in all my meals so i like simple solutions for lunches/meals that i can quickly pack in the morning, assemble @ work, and enjoy guilt-free
Here’s what i had today for lunch today— Large Salad topped w/ flaked tuna + homemade dressing:
-large container full of pre-washed italian salad mix (romaine lettuce + raddicchio)
-1/2 can of rinsed flaked tuna (packed in water)
-homemade salad dressing
RECIPE FOR SALAD DRESSING (VERY EASY AND VERRRRY TASTY):
3 Tbsp Lemon juice, 1 tsp dry oregano, 1/4 tsp paprika, 1tbsp Extra-virgin Olive oil, 1/2 enveloppe Splenda, 2 Tbsp apple-cider vinegar, Salt + pepper & a pinch of cayenne pepper. Combine all these ingredients in a small tupperware container so you can bring it to work and shake right before topping your salad. This is enough dressing for 2 salads.
this is VERY simple and if you bring another container full of lettuce, you can add the other 1/2 of the can of tuna and use the rest of the dressing. 2 meals!! very EASY
ENJOY =)

soooo…..ive been going through a ton of family problems lately…outta nowhere **** started getting outta control in my personal life, in regards to family mainly….i have had a crazy upbringing with no real guidance from my parental figures… my mom is more like a friend to me than an authority figure, and my dad has serious mental problems….he got into a fight with the living-room furniture on friday night and kicked all of us out of the house. i have enough on my plate working full-time, personal training/doing nutrition consults on the side….ive also gotta focus on getting ready for shoots and other gigs… i thought my life at home was fairly stable, i mean, i try to keep out of everyones hair, i pay my rent, buy my food etc… i really just live at home to be closer to my little bro and mom cuz they’re the only people i have close to me pretty much…. soooo when things started going crazy i turned to the gym for support. i know…sounds funny!! but believe it or not, all the struggles ive had in my life i overcame through “mind over matter” …. and by pushing myself harder and beyond my limits @ the gym, i empower myself to push through personal problems in the same way! when my family situation got outta hand, i added 30min of daily cardio on the hardest machine for me…the STEPMILL…. yesterday i did about an hour on it, pretty intense and i felt like a brand new human being when i came off!! pushing weights also helps me regain focus and push through tough times… and when i said the stepmill was my shoulder to cry on,..didnt mean it literally the only “tears” landing on the cardio equipment is sweat…..which i consider weakness leaving the body anyways!!! lol… GO GYM!!!!

okay, so i decided to compete @ the OPA show yesterday in mississauga, ON… LOL for me, something usually goes wrong…well this time, i wrote my own diet, trained myself, did the whole fat/carb loading and water depletion before the show…this all went well!!! i managed to keep up the cardio/diet till the last minutes…however i missed out on ONE crucial ingrediet……POSING PRACTISE/STAGE PRESENCE!!! the good news however was that i managed to make it on stage alll on my own, i did not have anyone at the show with me…my mom painted me w/ JanTana showtan the night before and dropped me off in the morning… i pumped up, listening to my mp3 player, had a sip of wine, did my pushups and attempted some last minute posing practise…LOL…unfortunately when i got on stage (note- i wasnt really nervous) i began to pose the way i had at previous shows, and the announcer had to call my number—number 78! and intstruct me to relax and turn completely sideways….OH MY!!! HAHAHA luckily i pulled it off, although i was rather distracted….
i left right after pre-judging cuz i wasnt feeling energetic at all, and i thought i must have looked awful on stage…either way i must say this experience did nothing but ENCOURAGE me to get my butt in the gym, continue dieting/cardio and PRACTISE my posing and hit the stage @ the next show here in toronto!!!! YESSSS!! im actually excited, and NO im not hiring a coach im gonna continue to train myself, i find it more rewarding this way…. i saw some pictures from yesterday that people had tagged me in on facebook and they actually looked pretty good, i didnt F up that bad onstage…i came in looking FULL and DRY so atleast i did SOMEthing RIGHT this time!! LOL ..
NOTE TO ALL COMPETITORS—– NEVER GIVE UP!!! I STILL DONT KNOW HOW I PLACED BUT I WILL GOOGLE IT AND FIND OUT AND KEEP EVERYONE UPDATED
i still got my fake nails on and im slightly orange from the comp tan paint….but…im OFF to the gym…i will try and practise posing every other day from now till my next show…good luck to anyone else that is competing and DO IT FOR FUN!!!!!!
inspite of my stage presence i stilll had a great time and met a few cool peeps backstage;)
