Whoa! 

 What an amazing two months it has been since my last post (maybe three).  Anyway, things have been even better than the last…

After getting my weight bench and weights set including the iron things have been on an amazing road… however, my MIND still was not into it all the way -  Here’s the thing, I was still saying yes to freinds who would invite me out on dates or happy hours and of course, by me saying yes, i would go out and drink and then come home drunk or tipsy to a dusty weight bench…

NOT GOOD!!!! 

I read an article the other day re: advise on keeping fit, etc (i forget the title) but it was in one of my fav mags: Maximum Fitness - one of the bullet points was to: "AVOID PEOPLE AND SITUATIONS THAT ARE NOT WITHIN MY FITNESS GOALS"  and so for some reason one day, posted it on my fridge and low and behold things started changing and my mind became into it..

long story short, i now have a daily jorunal on gym and food intake (i take it to the gym - no longer embarassed about the notebook) i say no to ppl who want me to go drinking!!!  im telling you, within 2 weeks, my belly flattened and im more toned with NO ALCOHOL!!!  I only give myself Friday OR Saturday to go out and now, I am already getting sweaty after 1 drink. LOL 

Now to the boxing - so I was researching on new things to do and I take boxing classes on Mondays at my gym, no contact, but its intense and I sweat like a dog! 

I recently went to a waterpolo tournament because I have a buddy who is into it and he invited me to the tournament because they needed volunteers and I said, "why dont i go and meet ppl who are into this sport"  I ended up meeting some nice folks and I was invited by them to go to their Tuesday night practices in the rec center!!!  I’m going to go and surround myself with ppl who are into sports, gym, working out and eating right!!!

I am tired of the ppl who just go to the bars every single week, drink and drink and dont eat properly and consume way too much alcohol!!!  If anyone has had a party life its me, I am def glad to say "been there, done that!" LOLOL

OMG - got my weight set and bench; progress pics to come

hey there!!!

sooo phsyched yes again about my training and weight-lifting… well its finally here.. my BB freind came and actually GAVE me a Hoist bench that inclines AND declines!!!  i have a set of 25lbs hex dumbells, an 8 lbs set, an EZ bar, and aout 75lbs worth of weight plates!!!!  OMG  so, now im not only doing the iron bar thing, but now i can do dumbell exercises at home during the week when i get home from work.. so now, i can eat at decent hour and not have to track home from the gym in the city!!!  its right there.. im loving it!!!!  and i already seeing results!

i have a studio apartment and i made the bench fit. LOL  when u really want something, u make it work.

got myself a book about eating clean for men.  its from a magazine i read about.

so, probably on sunday i can take some progress pics in the a.m for all of u to critique..

OMG! things are going so fab for me. Im literally, almost finished with the bucket of the protien powder already! have been strict with my multi-vitamins and totally staying as strict as i can with my diet.  I give myself like one day of the week, just to eat whatever im craving.

anyway, the latest progress pics are up and i am having a blast posting them and hopefully ppl will start to make comments. I got a new cam as promised and I am def on my way for sure.

I am really noticing a change in my rear delts when i look at myself from the side, i am also noticing my lats kinda popping out when i do a pose that stretches out the back.  my shoulders esp are beginning to get wider because i really notice that the arm-hole seam on my shirts are riding up.  I am really happy right now and mainly its because I have included myself in a community thats all about working out (bb.com) sooo…

def looking forward to more progress and work and good food and more insp from all of you!!!

Ok..!  Wow.. what a night last night (Thursday)  my freinds from London got here and we def partied it up last night.  Im a bit hungover now and at work, but things are ok.  I am officially calling last night a "cheat" night, cause i didnt even think about eating right, nor working out, and the alcohol intake..

I know, I know!… the alcohol is probably the worst.. but I dont do it like I used to cause ive got it in my mind to not drink to help me to my goals of getting muscle.  anyway.. but i had a great time nonetheless and my freinds did as well.  so, tonight is the day I will stay in and go back to the regimen and plan and workout tonight and eat my good meals..

NOW HERES THE BIG PART… people have ACTUALLY commented on my body and they say "i can tell uve been working out!"  OOOOMMMMMGGGGG im sooo happy to have heard that and i must admit, went a little to my head, but i stopped that quick!!!  More importantly, it really made think about things and totally got me sooo motivated to continue what Im doing and continue the diet… things are actually starting to look-up!

oh danng. im so happy right now and feel great.  if u remember, i couldnt even do one pull-up.. now i can do 3!!! :o )

i know, not much, but def a gain for me.  i am really excited and happy about it.  my workout included, pull-ups, push ups, dumbells curls and chin-ups. and seated backrows.

My bench and dumbells.. coming soon!! woohooo!

ok.. so on another note.. i am getting a bench and dumbells very soon..  i tend to agree with the saying "if the wheels squeaks it will get its oil"  so.. i have a BB friend upstate and he has like mad equipment that he sells and trades and stuff like that.. has a real nice gym in the garage. 

anyway, he knows that i want to start to BB and get a nicer body, really get focused on the workouts and i mentioned that I wanted a bench that can atleast be flat and incline/decline.. and also want some dumbells for my apartment… my place will be packed but f*** it, i need to be working out more.. so.. that will help me during the week to workout from home..  great thing is, my friend totally offered to just give me the bench he has and a set of 3 dumbells.. the bench is this brand called Hoist.. went to the website and whoooaaa good equipment id say.. def pricey, but he said he knew how bad i wanted it so, he is willing to help me..

i am very happy about this, cause all he expects from me is for my ass to get built LOL.. so i am really happy right now :o )  im trying to surround myself with more BB’s because the ppl you surround yourself with you will most likely be like them..  I am going to a BB comp hopefully in June and he is going to let me backstage!!!! wooohooo!!!!  so amazed, cause it will be my first show i ever go too.

Day 2: Iron Gym - Awesome… and Shakes

ok.  so, last night (wed.) i did more exercises on my iron gym and felt super awesome!!!  I focused more on my back this time and did some natural grip pull ups.. i also did abs and obligues..  sooo amazing.. I’m super happy about my iron gym and focused on what i want to do during the week at home.

so my workout -  5 pull ups using natural grip;  20 reps of push ups (chest already sore from day 1);  50 ab exercises inlcuding the obliques and shoulder presses.  something light since i am starting off slow and working my to more vigorous workout.

shakes taste good.  i bought my MM shake and drank 2 shakes when i got home and also after dinner… totally did not feel like I was going to exlpode from fullness - i drank the shake with cold water.

Shoulders feel worked out..abs.. and a digi camera!!!

after my iron gym work out, i am feeling pretty good and sore from the workout.  i esp feel some shoulder soreness, but where the shoulder meets the back.. and also underneat my arms where my lats are. 

tonight, i plan on doing even more abs because i need to lose some fat around my waist..

ok, its been about a week now with my profile and i know some of you must be like, "dude, get ur photos up"  LOL  i am getting a digital camera this weekend.. i have my cam-phone, but i want to do this right.. and have my freind take the pics of me so i can truly track my progress. 

anyone selling their old digi-cam???

Day 1: Iron Gym

So, here we are.. I am sore today from day 1 of my Iron Gym workout..

8p. - while watching TV, I assembled my Iron Gym - like i remembered, it was way easy and was very excited

8:30p - stretched a bit.  I started to do a chin-up and…. whoa.. couldnt even do ONE!!!!  :o (  I tried again and could not do another one, but def tried, almost had my chin up to the bar, but just shy of it.  I will DEF be working on that.  I want to be doing 5 reps by next week.  I did 5 pull-ups, which was nice.  I also did 30 push ups using the Iron Gym and I really liked the push up cause it gave me a real good range of motion esp for my rear delts and a nice strecth on my chest.  I also did 20 reps of sit ups, which was excellent because the iron gym held me in place with the door frame.

Improvements of the workout -

1.  While doing the chin-ups, I have to bend my knees so that my feet do not hit the floor too soon for me to go as low as possible. 

2.  push-ups were excllenet, but what to incportate much more, like pec-flys, incline presses and decline presses.

3.  sit ups- my lower back started to ache, big time..  not sure what that really meant.  i know the abs and lower-back go hand-in-hand and support one another, but maybe my lower back is not strong enough???  Im going to have to find out whats up with that..

So, Im def ready for lots more to come and i will def be keeping my blogs up to date.

Purchase of my Iron gym and my protien powder

Its been an exciting two days for me.  I recently bought my Iron Gym and my protein powder.  On Sunday, after arriving back in NYC from Phila, i went str8 to BBandBeyond to get the Iron Gym.  I have been wanting it for some time now due to my hectic schedule and me not being able to go to the gym during the week.  I am so excited to start tonight (Monday 3/16)  My chest and shoulders are slightly sore from working out Saturday morning.  Tonight, I want to try out the iron gym by doing some pull-ups and chin-ups and see how I feel.  I plan on doing a little warm-up set and then do 4 sets of each exercise and take it from there.  I’m sure in 2 weeks, I will be very comfortable and able to do 10 reps per set.

In addition, I bought my Muscle Milk protien powder from BB.com.  I’m very happy about that because I totally need to crank up the protien intake on my diet.  I want to add the powder to my oatmeal in the a.m. and also make myself a shake as a snack in the p.m. before I start to head to bed.  Im very proud of my eating habits already - i eat non-fat everything LOL.  well mostly cheese, milk and yogurt.  I eat lean red meat and chicken breasts.  Sometimes I can escape with the occasional pepperoni pizza! :o )
