Just visiting..

Monday, June 16th, 2008

It’s been a while!  So, lately I haven’t been really up to par with my diet.  Lot’s of birthday’s and graduation’s going on.  Good for them, sucks for me!  I’ve graduated already and my birthday’s past.  I guess it’s only been a couple days where I’ve slacked off on it.  No excuses though.  I plan on working really really hard these next two weeks.  Two weeks?  Well, I started my ECY stack once again this past Thursday.  For some reason when I’m on the ECY stack my running tends to be easier on the ankle (maybe the andrenaline level hikes up).  Ankle is still bothersome, but like Clint Clark, no pain no gain.  I have my BF test again this Thursday.  Dang, 3 weeks fly by!  I don’t expect great results (see above).  Oh well, what’s in the past is in the past.  I can only learn and move on from it by changing what I do now.  I also now have Tahoe to look forward to in August.  Hopefully I can do my hikes without the tshirt.

I’ll be posting back on Thursday!

The results are in!

So I got my measurements yesterday at my work gym.  I set an appoitment for 3 weeks later to get an update.

I don’t know how accurate it is because all my pants are 36’s and fit a little loose.  Yet she put my waist at 40.5.  That’s a bit confusing to me.  Oh well!  We’ll see what progress I make in 3 weeks!

Checking in..

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

It’s been a while so I felt like it’s time to check in and give a status report.

I’m still in recovering mode.  I just realized that sometimes I need to take a vacation when I get back from vacation.  This past weekend was the wildest weekend I’ve had since the begging of January, which is good, in my opinion.  I’ve started to realize that my binge partying weekends may have come to some kind of a closure this past weekend.  6 kegs of beer with 12 of your friends in 3 days is pretty insane.  Not to mention, we’re on a boat in a lake filled with college students.

I’ve decided today to take a break from double days.  I’m not going to the gym today either and probably won’t until the weekend.  If you any of have been on a houseboat, or any boat, I’d imagine you know the feeling I’m feeling right now.  You know the feeling of when you’re standing still and you have to balance yourself even though you’re on flat grounds.  For that matter, I’ve considered the gym off limits this week.  Which is good to because it’ll want to make my goal even more once I get back.

I’ve also scheduled my body fat test for this Thursday.  The gym trainer at my work suggested that I’d do it the prior week but since I had this vacation planned I wanted to do it after, for obvious reasons.  Luckily my work’s gym offers to give us the tests for free.  So I’ll be getting that done on a monthly basis.

I’ve also determined that I will start studying for the GMAT.  It’s going to take a lot of time but I think it’s time to get it done.  Hopefully it doesn’t affect my gym schedule.  If it does, just means I’d have to sacrifice some sleep for the next 3 months.  Oh well, it’s overrated anyways.

Hmm.. I think that’s it for now.  I’ll keep up more frequently this time around.

May Day

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

I tried running yesterday on my gimp ankle.  Didn’t really work out.  Something about running on the tread and running vertical on a basketball court that was different.  No clue why.  So instead I just walked on the tread uphill.  This ankle thing is starting to annoy the shit out of me.

So now I set a new goal for myself to get back up and at it. Monday.  This weekend I’ll do excercises that don’t really bother my ankle. I found this really cool excercise at my gym too.  It’s a rowing machine simulater so it makes you row.  It’s great because it gives you a hell of a upper body workout and it’s light on the ankle.  I’ll be hitting that up all weekend.

News on the weight -

I weight myself in the morning which is why you see such a big difference.  The other weights were done at night and a lot earlier.  I just decided to enter it on Bodyspace from my excel sheet.  Have a good weekend and check up with you guys on Monday!

The Return

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

So yesterday I started playing basketball to see where I stood with my ankle.  I also wanted to start getting over the mental barrier of the injury I had.  It actually went pretty well.  I played for about 40 min straight.  I wasn’t able to run/cut side to side nor did I want to.  I was actually very satisfied with the way it felt.  Since I forgot to take my ice bag to work I just iced it when I got home.  It did wonders!  I woke up this morning and it felt fine.  I did my normal stretch routine since I sprained it as well.  So today after my 2pm meeting I’m going to head down to the gym and see how it holds up after I run a mile.  If all goes well I’m going to start my morning routine again although I probably won’t start HIIT until Monday.  Keeping my fingers & toes crossed. See you in a couple!

Horrible.. But can it be good?

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

So back in late Febuary and early March I decided that I am going to start getting really healthy and changing my body.  It has taking me a bit to clean up my diet.  It has always been the hardest thing for me to accomplish.  Ever since joining Bodybuilding.com I have been getting better and better at it (reminding myself Im not the only one doing it).  I had a goal to be "beach ready" by Memorial Day weekend.  This took a major set back. I’ll explain in a bit.

I have been doing HIIT sessions in the morning for about a week prior to my incident, hitting the weight room at work (I work for a high tech company and we have a gym on our campus), then doing another cardio at night e.g basketball, light jog.

On 4-22 I was playing basketball and sprained my ankle pretty bad.  Saw the doctor and he told me to get x-rays. Luckily it came back negative.  So, I’m still in the process of making my ankle better so I can run again.  But I also don’t want to return to quickly.  Hopefully by 5-5-08 though. So now I think I have a solid grip on my diet.  I will be taking GNC multivitamins, Bioplex WPI, and a ECY stack.  Maybe dropping the Y in the near future.  I am also waiting for some Clen to come in which I will cycle in (2 weeks on 2 weeks off).  I have dropped around 8 pounds since I "started" getting serious.  Now I feel like I have complete control and want to take advantage of it. This injury has shown me that I can still take control of my diet even though I am not doing any sort of cardio, which is great!

I plan on uploading some photos pretty quick and updating all my measurements.  I’ll check back in a few days with updates.
