Investing in professional assistance worth it??

I’m sitting here at work right now pondering what to eat as of course I didn’t prepare anything…that only leads to starvation and irritability or total binge fest and regret!

As stated in previous posts, my diet is what is most challenging for me. I read a lot about diet but the abundance of information can be so overwhelming and confusing. And all of our bodies respond differently to different things and I need something that is going to work for me and help me reach my personal goals.

I’ve been looking into getting some professional assistance with my diet and even workout. Especially, if I want to meet a goal such as competing. My issue with that is I am a single mom with limited finances and such services can get expensive. I was browsing Mike Davies site http://www.mikedaviesfitness.com/ because he has worked with many professionals in the industry and he is somewhat local for me. The prices didn’t seem too outrageous so I am seriously considering investing in his professional assistance.

Any thoughts? Do you think investing in professional assitance is worth it? Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

An eating plan prepared by you or by a professional is still going to require planning on your part. Getting the food from the store, planning meals, and preparing them to take with you. So the question I think is more important from reading your post is:

If I have a nutrition plan in place am I willing to take the time to plan, prepare, and stick to it.

Answer that first. Because you can obviously pay someone to do it but it’s YOU who will have to execute it. Best of Luck!

I think diet is challenging for a lot of us. I know it REALLY is for me but I try. As far as paying for a nutritionist, I agree with above reply/comment; it is still up to you to execute, even if they lay it out. Me, I still don’t understand a thing, but again, I try. I have a few suggestions to start, but give them to you later. Getting ready to leave work for the gym. But, as far as a trainer, various opinions of this, but for me, I did have a total of 14 sessions spread out with 2 different trainers. 1 trainer worked me with more machines with light and medium weight, with many reps, the other heavier weights (free weights & dumbells) so I feel I got the best of both and can devise my own plan from week to week with what works for me. Costly..yes, so just watch your budget, but I think a trainer is a good idea to start and go from there. Good luck!

Thank you for your feedback!! Your absolutely right! I understand that the commitment to take the time to plan, prepare, and stick to is all on me. I guess I am mainly looking for someone to show me, mentor me, teach me how to plan, prepare, etc in a way that fits my busy, hectic lifestyle.

I’m sure you will find a way. It will be tough, not gonna lie there, but you can do it. Be positive. Wish I could help you some, but don’t know much (especially diet/nutrition wise), just what I do for worl outs / cardio. Just be positive and don’t give up. (hmm, I need to listen to some of my own advice) Once you start though, you won’t want to stop. There will be a way, so do it. Be good!
