Hey people,

I am back. I have literally been in hibernation running away from the inevitable. I have gained back what I have lost so I am starting over. The good news is that I am engaged and planning a wedding for this August. I have extra motivation because I want to hit the 140s (145-149) by my wedding.

What am I doing different? I got me a "transformation coach". Her job is to keep me accountable in the eating area. I am weighing in every week and I joined a weight loss challenge. I am now keeping a food journal and focusing on the time/portion and frequency of my meals.

Some concerns.

I need major help on my weight program. I can’t afford a trainer and I am not comfortable with free weights. I will continue to do my machine weight till I can find someone to help me in the weight room. I haven’t had a weight program in a while and I am scared to begin one because I am afraid. I like the way I look when I lift and I know that I will not look the way I like without weight training so I will suck it up and go. I plan on 4 days of weight + 5 days of cardio each week.

Some Questions

Any suggestions on weight training? I prefer lifting heavy. How heavy is too heavy. How much repetition do I need. Should I work out my whole upper body and lower body and alternate between the two. I want a track (sprinter) or a gymnast body. What is the best way to achieve that? Low weight, High rep or high weight , low rep?

I have a dear friend who really encouraged me last week. She was starting to eat right and exercise and she asked me for pointers. I gave her some pointers and 1 simple recipe. This was about 2 months ago. 2 months later I visit her to find that she took most of my advice and was on her way to a healthier lifestyle. Although I am no expert. I have learned a lot from my research and I would like to share it with others.

My friend requested that I post my diet so she can see some examples. Now, this is a little scary since I am not always on my best behavior but I figured that I can also use this as a form of accountability. I will be posting screen capture of my food intack (courtesy of mydiaryplate.com). I will also be posting some recipes. I tend to come up with some of my own healthy recipes because I am too impatient to follow recipe and I find that a lot of things out there are a tad complicated with too much ingredent.

Word of caution. My diet is not a perfect diet, you will find that occasional candy bar. My main focus is to be as honest as possible with my transformation so that together we can learn from it.

I hope to commit to posting my daily food intake. If yoou find me slacking please please bug me. I will try to let you’ll know when I am out of town and unable to post.

The good news is that I had a safe move. I am back in the gym and the healthy eating starts tommorrow, I promise! I am giving myself one month to recover therefore my next weigh in will be Jan 31. Please check up on me, it is motivation!

I am now a 24hr fitness all sport club member. If anyone lives in OC and wants to workout together, hit me up. No crazies please. I hope everyone had a gr8 new year! Hope to see many transformations this year, mine included.

Hey Peops,

I just thought I would give you all a little update. I am currently not as focused as I have been. Infact, the holidays hae taken over and I am just going to take things slow. I am also currently in the process of moving to Orange County, CA. I am moving new years day! First out of state move for me, very big deal!

I will pick things back up in January. I will be gym hunting but most likely be sticking with 24 hour fitness. I will just be looking for a 24 hr gym that has the gym culture I like (ex. lots of body builders, lotsa regulars, good spin classes etc.) I will be more specifically moving to Cypress, CA so if someone want to recommend a gym location. Please do!

My next update will be towards the end of January. I will give myself a month to recover from Christmas sabatage.

Thanks for reading my blogs!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years!!!!

I am trying to channel all my energy and get what I need to get out.

I must confess: In the last 2 workout the intensity was down on half of the cardio. I blame yesterday’s on no music. The workout befor that, no excuse. Glad I got that off my chest. lol

I think my weight loss has slowed down to 2 pd a week. I think I have the remedy for this. It might involve changing up my workout a bit and maybe adding a day to my workout. I can’t eat any less, I already already consume only 1150-1300 calories a day. Exams will be over this week and I think I will join 24 hr fitness again so I can try to get at least 3 days of spin classes in (in addition to what I already do). I need to be losing at a 3pds/ week rate till the end of the year and I was going to give myself a little buffer period during Christmas but I don’t think that will be happening.

It is going to be a close one. I wish I will hit 155 by year end. Sign we’ll see. If you have any suggestion PLEASE let me know!!!
Thanks for all the encouraging words!!! It really motivates me. I LOVE the accountability.

I looked at myslef in the mirror and for some reason I must have expected to see some 135pound fitness model because I started to beat up on myself for what I was seeing. When I realized what I was doing, I had to chuckle because… I am 165 pounds of course I am not (yet) some small, toned 135pd chic. I mean what really do I expect??

Sometimes we have to remind ourselves of the reality of where we are and where we are going. 2 months ago I was 181, 3 weeks ago I was 173. With that said 165 at this point is a good thing. I am not yet 135 and that is okay. I cannot be 165 and look 135, that’s not possible.

Perspective is key in transformation! You have to give yourself the kudo when you’ve earned it. It is not wise to try to o ahead of yourself and expect something that is just not possible. If I keep doing what I am doing I will be 135/140 in no time but at this point I am 165 and that is a good thing for where I am.
