The first two weeks after starting cutting, I dropped 8lbs and an inch off my waist. My son’s birthday came up, didn’t have much of a choice on when to eat and tried to eat the best I could (burger, no bun, potatoes). I lost the day after his birthday as well from the cleanup and such. Between those two days, I gained all the weight back. It was amazing and incredibly frustrating that I lost two weeks worth of dieting in two days.

My workout’s worst enemy has to be my wife. She’s extremely negative and particularly mean. I know she has a tendency to be this way in general but she’s never been that way towards me so it comes as a shock.
Basically, there are two things. We both joined the same gym. I was the one who started the idea. I said I don’t like the fact that I’ve gone up a few pant sizes over the past couple years and she said the same thing. As far as weight is concerned, I haven’t made much progress (two inches at best). She dropped six inches on her waist.
She noticed I hadn’t really dropped any weight and said "If you go to the gym and just change and shower, you’re not going to lose weight and apparently your diet isn’t working either tubby." I told her that my goal is more muscle gain. My change in diet is puts my caloric intake at 1300 calories and I’m not gaining weight. This tells my my metabolism is slow. If I concentrate on gaining muscle mass, I’ll increase my metabolism. Basically, I’ll lose the weight sitting there and keep it off. If she misses a day at the gym, she’ll gain weight because her metabolism changed. She puffed up her lips, put out her chest, and raised her arms like she was flexing and said "yeah, I don’t see you getting like that."
In high school, I got to the point where I could do a bicep curl 60lbs (dumbbell not barbell) and even still my arms were all skinny and lanky. Now that I’m dieting and supplementing properly, I’m curling 25lbs and my arms are already larger and getting some definition. I’m impressed with my improvements. I asked my wife if she could feel the differences and asked her to squeeze my arm. She laughed and said "I can tell you now that you’re still a wuss."
At the point where I’m at now, I know nothing is amazing or impressive but I’m pleased with my improvements so far. She’s just being completely unsupportive.
