This is my first blog here, so be nice… First of all, if you are reading this I must make an apology for my terrible English. I’m from Norway, so we rather keep it in Norwegian (of course) Sorry again
I’ll try to do my best:
I started smoking six years ago - at an age of 13. Not a long time, you say? Well, it was way too long for me! Since then I’ve had around 20 cigarettes a day. My body was totally out of condition, but I never really noticed what this hell of a poison did to my body until I started at the gym an got on the treadmill. It screamed to me - straight on the screen - “You are in REALLY bad condition!”
It’s probably bad to blame others than myself, but I actually think my biggest problem was my girlfriends. EVERY ONE OF THEM had and still has at least 20 a day. When we hang out - that is (sadly) what we did. Anywhere, anytime and everyone - no exceptions. You get affected by people around you - I did, and I saw it hard for me to try change my lifestyle on my own, all by myself.
I started explicit training for my condition and noticed some improvement. But still, stupid me, kept my cigarette close to my right hand and never really accomplished my short-term goals. It must have looked rather stupid to watch me light up my cigarette as the first thing to do when I got out of the gym? YES!
I just couldn’t quite understand it until i quitted. - And 22nd of November 2008 I DID! Today is my 3rd totally smoke-free month, and I am going to celebrate it with my beloved girlfriends. Helene has made dinner for all of us, and later on we are going in to the city for a coffee. (Sugar free tea on me, of course)
And just by the way - today I had the best bicep-session ever. Pump, pump it up!
It aches so badly - and I’ve never felt better! Looking forward to tomorrow - my glutes to go! Sincerely, your 3-month smoke-free Zoey
