Well, this is the first day of the rest of my life… (SMILE..)…
Hubby helped me stick to my plan this morning, I was really going to give the AM cardio a skip.. but I didn’t. I didn’t have a GREAT time, cause I just couldn’t get myself started, but once I did get going, I burnt close to 300 cals, on 3 different cardio machines..
Learnings: 1). Prep the night before, 2) Have a written out plan even for cardio, 3). Get your MIND ready, way before you even attempt to get to the gym!
That’s my To Do: list under Health for the day…

Man, I knew by last night that I was in trouble today… my legs are hurting like MAD.. I did a good work out yesterday, I didn’t skimp on the wieght on the leg presses (like I usually do,) and I also did some lunges and squats which are always good… I’m sad that my "buttocks" are not hurting as they should.. I thought doing a deadlift with 40lbs of weight should have done the trick, but maybe I need to go higher.. who knows!
I’m debating whether I should go work out in my lunch hour today… I could, if I can get my "stuff" together.. or I could do the Billy Blanks Kickboxing Video that I have at home.. hmmm, what to do, what to do… now, I have had this video at home for over 4 months, and all I’ve done was sit on my butt and WATCH him sweating… hmmmm.
Just started drinking my water for the day… man, I’m so into reading the blogs and stuff about our new first family I really ought to get my mind in gear!!! Some days I wish this stuff could just get into my head by osmosis!!

had a great work out… starting to get a cold, so I didn’t do a LOT of cardio, but to compensate, I decided to up my intensity on my leg work-out… wow, it’s zinging right now….
The word of the week is CONSISTENCY!!!

I guess I could blame the Elections, or whatever else I would want to, but that wasn’t it… my major obstacle right now is my LACK of planning… I don’t have my food ready, don’t have my workout clothes ready…
Typical example, today I have all my workout stuff except my shoes.. and my lunch hour is really the only time I’m going to have to work out today cause it’s my husband’s 40th and he’s flying back from a business meeting so I have to pick him up from the airport after 9pm!!!
Yikes… gotta get the head right..

Yesterday was hard… I didn’t get up early to do an AM workout as was the plan, so I decided to opt for a late workout.
Now, due to a crazy commute, I only typically get home around 7:30pm at night, then it’s feed the kids (a pre-prepared dinner, I cook on the weekends mostly) and check homework, work on projects, do some straightening up, baths, bedtime stories… and then… phew… usually.. the crazy crash… but last night, I had determined in my heart that I was NOT going to crash.. not this time, so after getting through with all the above I headed out to the gym.. with my hubby.. we did legs.. it was a good workout, even though I feel I could have given it even more..
The main victory is that I did it.. Now, just to repeat the same tonight and prayerfully prepare my meals for the rest of this week!

Yesterday was Sunday… and day 2 of my 21 days of changing my habits…. and I really really didn’t want to go.. plus my husband was a non-contributor to the plight! I then decided that I was going to do a tape "Taebo" at home… but I’ve had this particular Taebo DVD for over a year and haven’t done it ONCE!!!
So finally, I got off my behind and headed to the gym… and for the first time in my life, I burnt off 500 calories doing Cardio… for about 45 mins it was me and the machine… it’s such an awesome sense of accomplishment…
So off I went home, all pschyched up and ready to roll, when my husband (bless his heart…) had made fried pork-chops for breakfast!!! Talk about the "enemy within".. I had a small piece of that and then I proceeded to make a smoothie (plus extra protein) like I had planned!
After church, was a WRECK!!! We had popeyes, fried porkchop leftovers from breakfast and then I washed all of that down with some Crystal light… needless to say the lesson learned is that I HAVE to preplan and have to build up my strength to stand up to hubby’s temptations!!!
Overall I feel like it was’nt a total wash, but I definitly didn’t make any gains!

Yeah, I did it.. I wrote my FINAL exam for my undergrad degree yesterday! It was a struggle.. it too me several years and here we are. at the end of an epic journey… I just feel so drained.
But, on the upside, I went to the gym today!!! Yeah!!! I had made a decision to change, but today was a test and challenge to see if that was just another empty promise or if I would honor my self-promise this time. I woke up not "feeling" like going. Then I made the excuse of "I’ll burn my calories cleaning up my house instead..".. well, something inside of me just rose up and said: "NO!!!" no more stories, no more excuses.. we are doing this.. so I bundled my kids up and headed to the gym… great workout too… I did cardio and upper body… I love it.. now I just have to figure out what to do with my hair.. it’s a mess and I cannot allow it to get in the way…
They say it takes 21 days to changeĀ a habit… so, for the next 21 days, I’m going to work out once a day, everyday. I’m going to eat as clean as possible (by planning what I’m going to eat - prior to the day actually getting here… ).. this is a journey I’m looking forward to taking… I can’t see the end of the road, but I can surely tell you I’m excited to get to the top of the next hill!
Thanks for all the support and love I’ve recieved from fellow "bodyspacers" thus far… Watch this space ya’ll!!!
