Day One - 3/22/07
Thursday, March 22nd, 2007So, today was my first serious day in the gym since high school. I was really surprised by how much I was actually able to lift–I expected to be substantially weaker than I once was. And while I have lost a lot of strength, I’d estimate it at about a 50% loss, which is much better than the 70-80% I was expecting.
Aside from seeing my lifts at comfortable numbers, I also felt really good being in the gym with a specific plan of attack. Now that I’ve gotten back to my room, I can really feel the lactic acid burning, and my back is shaking horribly: but I love it. All I kept thinking of was my wedding, and how I wanted to look then.
As for my lifts, everything boiled down to this:
SEATED CABLE ROW - 3×8-10
100×10, 120×10, 150×10
STRAIGHT ARM PULLDOWN - 3×8-10
100×10, 120×10, 130×8
LAT PULLDOWN - 3×8-10
100×10, 100×10, 100×10
DEADLIFT - 3×8-10
135×10, 135×10, 135×10
GOOD MORNINGS - 3×12-15
55×15, 65×15, 75×15
I’m really excited for the upcoming weeks, and especially for my next paycheck, so I can get some groceries and supplements. Until tomorrow!
