Finally in the Game!

Friday, December 29th, 2006

Great news!!! My wife is finally in the game of fitness and health! And it’s about damn time! I did however warn her that this world isn’t an easy one that any joe shmoe can just walk into and do….After her many attempts and failures I think she knows it takes more than just a good idea to get in shape an experience the crazy results and energy this lifestyle has to offer. Man it’s been a tough road too….We used to get into it so bad about her eating habits and exercise (which didn’t exist) that we would not talk for an entire day! Crazy huh? I knew I was being hard on her so I left her alone, and just led by example. I told her whenever she was truly ready I would be here for her but other than that I didn’t want any part of her half fast goals…..She really proved herself to me this past week and I don’t think her momentum is going to slow down anytime soon!  Welcome to my world baby! Train Hard!

Goin’ Heavy Again!

Monday, December 25th, 2006

Finally back to the training style I love, going HEAVY! I’m taking a slightly different approach this time, I’ll post my workout later tonight…I decided to get back on creatine although I didn’t make it til’ Jan 1st I think the end of Dec is just as good. I didn’t lose as much strength as I thought so blasting my shoulders and back worked out really well for me.

Keep training Hard! Look out my my workout schedule later today.

BodySpace cleaning up

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

I just read on the Web Admin Blog that Bodyspace is cleaning up the profiles (finally)! I for one am happy about the changes! Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy seeing half naked women but this site was intended for athletes not amature porn stars—-No offense of course. Keep up the good work BB.Com!

Strength within me…

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

Today was leg day and boy was I AMPED! I kicked it off by riding the stationary bike for 5min and worked my way over to the Squat rack…As always I’m blasting my gospel music feelin’ every verse! Like the good book says "I can do all things through him who strengthens me" (Phillippians 4:13)! After that being said who wouldn’t feel invincible! Anyway I decided to try something a little different today, I performed four sets of half squats for the first 5reps keeping total tension in my legs and finished with a deep squat….So in all for one set I did 25half reps and 5 deep squats whiched burned my legs like no other!!!! Try it sometime, and don’t just go through the motions, try to really feel each and every rep!

I supersetted these with 40lb db lunges…Then I hit one of my favorite Ham exercises, stiff leg dead lifts. Again Super setting with lunges…and finishing the day I hit Ham curls and leg extentions using the half rep to full rep strategy…My legs felt great and I was satisfied!

Chest

Monday, December 18th, 2006

I blasted my chest pretty hard today, harder than I actually thought I would but I was a little distracted. There was a young lady wandering around the weight room tonight in what looked like to be a sports bra but very well could have been mistaken for a training bra! Now the scene probably wouldn’t have been so bad if her little keg wasn’t jiggling with every step she took….Now I have nothing against others that have rough edges but damn! There’s a fine line between cute and disturbing and my friends tonight I was very disturbed :/

It Blew up on me…

Saturday, December 16th, 2006

Today is a very sad day for me….As I lay my blender down to rest I think about the good times we spent together creating muscle shakes and protein smoothies.

Actually i’m pretty pissed! Here I am hungry as all HELL not knowing what I’m going to eat that doesn’t require cooking, boiling, or baking. I make my way over to my "trusty" blender; I throw in my secret ingridents (which you can see in my earlier posts) and a huge smile comes across my face! and when I say HUGE I mean teeth and all were showing :)    Anyway, I hit blend and the only action I got to see was oozing mush coming out of the bottom of the blender!!! I figuered there was still time to save the blender and I quickly try to tighten the glass part to the base of the blender and all hell broke loose! I heard crackling, smelt a little smoke and the blender fell apart of course and the damn base decides to start spinning and my creation was EVERYWHERE!!! I’ll never buy a damn Hamilton Beach blender again! I mean come on, I only had it for 2months.

Diet

Saturday, December 16th, 2006

As of lately i’ve been really easy on my diet, I haven’t been as strict as normal on timing, quality foods and supplement uptake. Normally year round I try to keep up the intigrity of my training program but I think some of the "reason" I like to tell myself have been getting in the way of my results. This slump period won’t last long though, especially since I’m addressing right now. It’s time to break out the old blue print and re-evaluate myself and get back on track.

Upper Back and Traps???

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

This morning I started off on a good foot, it was almost like I woke up ready to BLAST some weights! So I put on my head phones and headed out to my stomping ground. My Upper back workout looked a little something like this:

Pull ups 4sets of 5 (warm up)

Wide Grip pull downs 120X15/  150X12/ 165X12/  180X10

These were super setted with 70lb 1 arm rows

Close grip pull downs  120X15/  150X12/ 165X12/  180X10

These were Super setted with straight arm pull downs 70lbs

I then moved on to traps which went downhill from there….I started hitting some barbell shrugs—  135X15/   205X12/   225X12/   275X12…Of course one of my talkative buddies came walking by and he couldn’t help himself but talk his ass off to me (as always)…I’m a true believer in "Shut the Fu*k up and train" theory and I believe it applies to everybody. So, I got caught up in some pointless convo and I lost my drive, and my workout stopped short. Damn
