Taking a rest

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

I stopped going to the gym for  about 2 months, because my dad got sick and died at the age of 60. I could not keep it together; he was an athlete, my trainer and my role model. But now I’m back to the gym, commited to work hard for myself and for him. I know he was proud of me.

I felt weaker the first week I came back, the second week I got stronger, the third week even stronger, the four week I felt almost like before I stopped working out.  Now, two months later I’m stronger than before, and I feel really good.

Conclusion, I think is good to take one or two weeks to rest after months of hard work.

LOse fat-gain muscle

Friday, December 14th, 2007

OK,  you should weight train for not more than 45 min per session, or your muscles start eating themselves or something like that, right?

I do cardio everyday for about 36-40 mins  to help me burn fat. Even though  I only do 22 mins of cardio  before my leg workout (to warm up), I’m afraid that my legs are getting tired on a daily basis and I can not lift as heavy. should I reduce cardio time or eliminate a couple of days?

eat less and do less cardio? what do you think I should do?

My diet (when I’m trying to be good)

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

Everybody has different needs.  The diet that works for me is the following:

When I go to the gym in the morning I eat:

Breakfast —>An apple and a protein bar before the gym (30g of protein) + 1/3 branbuds

Snack —> a banana

Lunch: —-> Protein shake, with lots of frozen berries (35g of protein)

Snack: —->GOlean cereal, plus all bran, fat free milk, 1/4 cup of oats and almonds (aprox 33g of protein)

Dinner —->Tuna, Chicken, Turkey or any other meat, plus vegetables (aprox 32g of protein)

Snack —-> Protein shake, with lots of frozen berries (35g of protein)

When I go to the gym at night

Breakfast: GOlean cereal, plus all bran, fat free milk, 1/4 cup of oats and almonds (aprox 33g of protein)

Snack: (If I get hungry I eat a Fruit, but after that cereal I don’t)

Lunch: Tuna, Chicken, Turkey or any other meat, plus vegetables (aprox 32g of protein)

Snack: Protein shake, with lots of frozen berries (35g of protein)

Dinner: protein Bar before going to the gym and 1/3 cup of branbuds

Last Snack: (After the gym) Protein milk shake, with lots of frozen berries (35g of protein)

Total calories = 1800 aprox. Total grams of protein: aprox 150g  fiber= aprox 55g

Water intake: as much as I feel like, 60 OZ the only day I don’t go to the gym, and 90 oz the rest of the week aprox.

Other suplements: Green tea, omega 3, vitamin C 1000, and prenatal vitamins

Hey, Is height that important?

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

Why do people lie about it? or is it a new measurement system I don’t know about?

LOL,  some friends have told me they r 5′5′’ and they r shorter than me when they stand next to me. I just feel sorry. I am 5′4′’  and have no problems with that.

Is height that important ?

How to tell a person you don’t want to be their gym buddy?

Sweets no more

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

I won’t eat sweets anymore, I work out hard and they r keeping me from having better results. I built up to 6 times a week, 2 hours a day…I have a lot of endurance, great energy, speed, and flexibility, even strenght. My only problem is the body fat. I always been kind of chubby and I love food (my stomach is bigger than normal, yeah right).

My tentations r chocolate, cookies, candy, cake, pie….u name it.

I don’t buy any of these but I get them for birthday, xmas, mother’s day, anything!!! I never turn them down…and it seems to be like my friends and family don’t care about me eating healthy, in fact often they try to sabotage any effort…"one cookie won’t do anything because -u go to the gym-"

recently I got several boxes of chocolate for mother’s day, I got sick. I have no self control.

Welcome!
