Major Klutz!!
So Tues night, I’m carrying a pot of boiling water to the sink. Totally goofed and spilled it on my leg! I burned it bad enough that I end up in the emergency room, and all I can think about is ‘There goes my leg workout in the morning!!" I burned about 8 inches of my inner thigh. The Doc gave me a Tetanus shot and some burn cream and pain meds. Looks pretty yucky (HUGE blisters!) but he didn’t think it would scar. I am out of commision for a few days, though. Can’t do legs or even upper body because they gave me the T-shot in my delt muscle and it is so sore!! (I didn’t realize the needle was so big!) It seems like everytime I make progress, something else happens!!(the flu, the exertion headaches, and now this!) I will try to go in tomorrow(Fri) to at least walk on the treadmill and I’m hoping my shoulder feels better so I can do chest. I need to hit the bench HARD!! Looking on the bright side, this little rest should do some good for my sore joints. (Ooh, getting older stinks!) Ciao for now!

Hope you recovery is 100% soon. Use the rest days to your advantage. Even bulk up a bit. Then return ready to go hard with zealous enthusiasm. Good luck.

sorry to hear X. I know that smarted a bit. Take it easy for a couple days and then hit it real good.
I like to think there is no older just better.

Oh my! I feel for you. Burns suck! I spilled boiling water on my hand a few weeks ago and oh, what a horrible horrible experience! I was at work when it happened and I felt so awful that day. For me, the burns were small, but the initial pain was almost unbearable and the location was awful - all around my knuckles and on the sides of three fingers where they touch each other. I cannot fathom incurring an 8 inch burn! You poor thing!
Thankfully, the worst of the pain was the first 12 hours– thereafter it’s just the blisters that are nuisance, as I’m sure you’re aware.
It’s been nearly a week for you, so I hope all is healing well.

OMG! Silver sulfadiazine (that’s probably what they gave you) then vitamin e oil once the blisters have gone. That should help prevent scarring, too. Sounds like it was just a large area and not deep. Here’s wishing you a speedy recovery!

Your tet shot only hurts because of the carrier it is in ( normally oil based), even if it is sore its only localised and wont stop muscle function in any way. So go work out and stop being a girlie.

Aloe for the burn; Chondroitin / glucosamine for the sore joints. Just a couple of hazy thoughts from an old feller who knows the joys of getting older…….
