A couple days ago I wrote to Controlled Labs and told them how much their supplements have helped me achieve my goals. Out of all of the supplements I have ever tried, Controlled Labs gives me exactly what I need to make it through every workout! They have a very effective supplemental line and that is why they have earned such an incredible reputation. I was then contacted by Mr. Jon Klaft, President of Controlled Labs, telling me that they would be interested in bringing me on as a sponsored natural athlete. I immediately wrote back and said, "Yes!". As of right now I am shooting back e-mails with PT..Some of you might know who he is, very nice guy and always a huge help in the forum. I am getting all of the information right now of what is expected of myself as a sponsored Controlled Labs Athlete. I am very thankful to have been given this opportunity and look forward to working with Controlled Labs!

Take care,

I just want to take the time to thank all of you who have supported me and encouraged me to be the best I can be. It’s you guys and girls who keep me going out there!! Health and fitness is something I am very passionate about and I feel blessed to be able to do what I do. Helping others achieve their goals any way I can is something I love to do. To train others and provide others with training and nutritional information as a part time job makes me the happiest person in the world! I remember first logging on to BodySpace a year ago and being in complete aww of all of the incredible looking physiques on here! It was something I wanted sooo bad, so I said to myself.."I gotta train harder, 5 times a week instead of 3..I need to do my research on supplements that work..I need to throw out my current diet and tighten it up..and I NEED TO STAY CONSISTENT". You’ve got to give it your all, no excuses. If you want something bad enough, go out and get it!

All of you have been great and I can’t thank you enough,

Sincerely,

I often get people asking me about my diet and what I eat to stay so lean, lowering my BF% but yet keep the muscle growing. Bottom line is, it’s about throwing out everything you used to love and throwing in a whole other realm of foods. Sticking to a high protein, moderate carb, low fat diet is key for putting on lean mass. What I currently am eating as of now is a whole lotta chicken (boneless\skinless), lean beef, organic black beans, whole grain rice (in moderation), sweet potatoes, lots of tuna, lots of eggs (mainly egg whites, sometimes I will throw in a yolk in there), bananas, mixed fruit (in moderation), low sodium turkey on Ezekiel bread with lettuce (nothing else), McCann’s Irish Oats, and I usually get my veggies through powder since I really do not care for whole food veggies..but believe me, I do know the importance of including them in an everday diet. I have thrown out all fast food, sugary sodas and juices, fried foods, sweets, and certainly alcohol (coming up on 5 years since I have had my last drink..and I never plan to put another one down again). Dropping every one of these items helped me lose the excess bodyfat I was carrying around. In my opinion I think 70% of reaching your overall goal of grasping that desired physique has to do with diet. You can train all you want, but if you don’t have your diet in check…the results you are looking for will come slower then expected or may not come at all. So keep that diet in check and X out all of the fatty\fried\sweet\fast foods out there and reach that goal of attaining the physiqye you desire!

The mind and body are two of the most amazing things in this world, and the mind is what tells us what we can’t, can, and won’t do. A positive mind is key to a healthy lifestyle. When I step into the gym, I feed off of the energy of others and step back and take a glance at who is pushing themselves as far as they can go. I look at the guy on the bench putting up 305 on his 8th rep with all of his strength telling himself he can do it!..and he does. I look at the smaller guy curlin 50 lbs on his 10th rep saying to himslef "C’mon, c’mon! If you put your mind to it and psych yourself up to push it to the next level, you got it! If you say your going to do 10 reps on the chest press at 175, know you can do it, and will do it. Do not let failure be an option. I find that when I am on the last rep and pushing that weight as hard as I can, I tell myself I can do it and will do it, I think about how hard I’ve worked to get to this point and push that weight. It’s all in the mind, and if you stay positive and pro-active, you can achieve anything.

So here it is, I have received many PM’s, and comments asking me about my diet and ab routine. Bottom line is it is all about consistency, inside and outside of the gym. Diet has more to do with getting those abs to show than the actual ab routines. Stick to a high protein, moderate carb, low fat diet. Eliminate all sugary sodas, juices, and alcohol since these all go straight to the abdomen. My current diet consists of the following foods: Chicken, tuna, lean beef, whole grain rice, oats, low sodium turkey, light whole wheat bread, light n fit Dannon yogurt, bananas, Kashi Heart to Heart cereal, Pure Protein 19g Protein bar, sweet potatoes, eggs, organic black beans and veggies. I also take 2 protein shakes a day, 1 pre-workout, and 1 post workout. You can buy Lean Pro Matrix at nlnutrition.net. These are all of the foods that are in my diet as of right now and have been for the past 6 months. It’s pretty strict, but it does the job for putting on lean mass, keep the portion control in check.

My ab routine consists of training my abs 5 days a week intensely, some may say this is overtraining, but I dis-agree, in my opinion you can train abs everyday. I train my abs for 30\45 minutes a day on top of weight training. I take White Flood, Purple Wraath, Blue Up, Orange Traid and Green Bulge to give me the energy I need to complete my routines, as well as keeping my body from going into catabolic state. For instance Monday I will do 4 sets of leg lifts at 15 reps each, then weighted ab machine crunches at 4 sets of 30 at 70-80 lbs, decline crunches at 4 sets of 30 reps, and last but not least cable crunches (my favorite), this exercise really got my abs to pop..I do 2 sets of 40 at 50 lbs, and then another 2 sets of 40 at 60 lbs, adding a twist here and there to get those obliques, not only on this exercise, but on all ab exercises, and switch it up a bit doing these in differrent order every day.

Cardio is also very important when getting those abs to show, it keeps off that extra layer of fat. Currently I am running every other day for 15 mins intensely at the end of a workout. I do not want to over do it with the cardio since I am still trying to put on muscle mass, so I keep it limited, this seems to be enough to keep of that extra layer of fat nobody wants, let’s not forget, weight training also burns calories.

Shoot me a message if you have any other questions,

Thank you all,

Just thought I would express myself on this topic, and write how I feel right now. There isnt a better feeling than being natural and knowing you’re doing the best thing for your body by staying off the drugs whether it be roids, or even alcohol. Knowing that I am drug free and have been drug free for about 3 years now makes me proud. I spend most of my time in the gym and I love it. It makes me feel better than anything in this world..besides my lovely wife. When I know I am making progress, and hear people tell me "Man, you look great", it really does make me feel great, and to know I am doing this all by myself without roids and things on that level, it makes me feel even greater. I have so much respect for those who have built their bodies the right way, the positive way. Being drug free is an accomplishment, and for those who are, much respect, and take it all the way!
